Gigabyte/I3 combo Good Deal?

    That mobo/processor combo is a great deal. Just note where it says "limited to quantities on hand". Don't be surprised if they're all sold out after 1-3 people go in. lol.

    (I hate Fry's...)

    I just got back from Fry's on 59 and they were SOLD OUT.

    But, told me to go to the one in Clear Lake ... they just got the last 15 for the deal.

    Drove down and picked one up.

    Question: Do I need to apply thermal gel or is the pre-applied one good enough on the stock heat sink?

    I'm hearing you should always put some but some sites said is good enough.

    I've built about 3 computers and I've always used the thermal paste that comes on the stock heat sink. I've never had any problems.

    the stock one should be good enough. I always add some Arctic silver 5 though.
