I just did a clean install of Wins 7 over my XP and did all the windows update

and everything is working fine and smooth. But, today I tested my internet speed because I notices it being sluggish (I have comcast 16 mbps) usually when I test it before on my XP. I'll get 7-8mbps download.

Well today, I'm getting 2 mbps download... and sometime having problems connecting to the internet (it would say "Connected .. no internet access") and as I'm typing is only on 1 bar of signal strength.

Since, I didnt install any drivers being told that Wins 7 will install them. Do I need a new wireless card? to perform/compatible better with Wins 7?

I have a DLINK GWL-520 which was discontinue early last year.

I google "slower internet speed with Windows 7" and saw quite a few complaints, anyone else having this prob?

Windows 7 does have a large array of drivers in the installation, but if there's a problem you should check the manufacturer's website for the latest compatible and try them.

I didn't see anything for a GWL, but I did see a "D-Link DWL-520 Wireless PCI Adapter, 802.11b, 11Mbps". If that's your card, c'mon it's a Wireless B. While it may work, it's pretty old. You may be getting the full speed from your ISP, but the card is old hardware....

You can Google just about problem (with just about) any product and find a lot of like-minded results, it doesn't necessarily mean much.

If you are still using internet explorer, the same thing happened to my dad's laptop. I got around the problem by installing firefox I had on my hard drive stick and now its working like a charm.

Reset your modem. If using a router, also reset your router if you haven't done so.
