Well considering Yao is running on a treadmill that simulates only 70% of his weight as of the last report, I can see him being truly limited. At the C position, with Yao and his foot, I think there would be plenty of minutes to go around for the 3 guys. As for money, no clue how this pans out.
It's so funny how coaches always seem to gravitate to players they know. How many former Knicks ended up playing for the Rockets when Van Gundy was coach? Now, Adelman is doing the same thing.
If Andersen no longer fits, I doubt it's too hard to deal him. First, an European team may very well want him and would be willing to pay him more than what the Rocket are scheduled to pay him. If Andersen wants to return to Europe and can earn a bigger salary than $2.5 mil (he is, after all, pretty good over there) all parties involved in such a situation would have incentive to agree to let Andersen go without any salary obligation (like what happened with Spanoulis). Second, if he stays in the NBA, the $2.5 mil salary shouldn't be hard to trade. There are all kinds of teams with cap room this year, and not enough FAs to go around... so someone will be in position to eat a salary for a somewhat useful role player.
not in a million years would they be bringing miller in to play alongside yao, and i'd say it's a pretty safe bet if miller is brought in it would be at the expense of andersen. for a backup C that could come pretty damn cheap, i'm not sure i understand any of the criticism being tossed around.
That would be a great backup for yao, and would give yao more rest time, which equals a least amount of chance of him gettting hurt
And lost in all this is the excellent article on Kevin Martin. Most of that was news to me. The good news is he's determined to make this his hardest working summer ever - and he's reknowned as a hard worker.
A hard worker, though not necessarily a hard player or a hard man. This team misses their Landry and Artest.
Opposite? Coming right up.... Seriously, B52 does now Adelman's system and also a former teammate of Kevin, but we have enough firepower already. What we need is a bruiser/enforcer C or F/C. If we can draft someone that fits these qualities, having Miller who is a durable player and also train the future rook in the process would be great for our team
Yep. Seems he's never mentioned, and when he is people are just making fun of him. But he has carved us up every time we play against him. Certainly this isn't the impact player DM is talking about adding, but IMO he would help us rather than hinder.
Yao Ming Brad Miller David Andersen Luis Scola We don't have any big man with decent quickness and athleticism except a rookie and a 6'6" center. I hope it's just part of Morey's master plan of getting an elite big man like Bosh and Stoudemire.
Our goal is not to squeak into the Eastern Conference playoffs. Our goal is to be a contender next year. Brad Miller is still a serviceable player but this team needs one thing badly right now and that is a Center who can defend the paint. Brad Miller is a horrible paint defender. It's great that he can pass and knows Kevin Martin and Adelman's offense but this team really doesn't need that...at all. We already drop gobs of points on people but we can't stop anyone. How does Brad Miller offer anything to remedy that?
