"Sources close to the Rockets say Houston will pursue former Kings and current Chicago center Brad Miller on the free agent market. The 12-year veteran who played with Martin from 2004 to 2009 was one of Martin's staunchest supporters during their time together, and their chemistry in running Adelman's respected system could add yet another offensive dimension to the Rockets' plan." http://nba.fanhouse.com/2010/04/16/integrating-martin-key-to-rockets-lifting-off-next-season/
Do it DM....do it. ___________________________________________________________ Miller in play for Rockets? 10:48 AM ETBrad Miller | Bulls | Interested: Bulls?, Rockets? Top Email Let's face it: Brad Miller's name isn't usually one we mention when listing free agents this summer. But Miller, though aging at 34, does still have some servicable skills and has proven to be a reliable backup for the Bulls this season. Miller told the Chicago Tribune this in February: "I won't be asking for the same amount. I do call myself a realist. Hopefully, I'll get more (than league minimum) but it's not about money. I just want to play. I think I have not too many more but definitely one or two more seasons in me." So yes: Need a backup big man on the cheap for a season or two? Miller is your man. As such, FanHouse reports today the Rockets could be after him because of his relationship with Kevin Martin: "Sources close to the Rockets say Houston will pursue former Kings and current Chicago center Brad Miller on the free agent market. The 12-year veteran who played with Martin from 2004 to 2009 was one of Martin's staunchest supporters during their time together, and their chemistry in running Adelman's respected system could add yet another offensive dimension to the Rockets' plan." If Miller is willing to come back on the cheap, it's possible the Bulls will try to re-sign him. With Joakim Noah, Taj Gibson and possibly an impact big man like Carlos Boozer or Chris Bosh coming aboard, Miller would add some solid depth behind them.
I like Brad Miller - terrific high post passer and shooter. Not a shot blocker but no slouch for post defense. An improvement over David Andersen. Serviceable as a starter.
Sounds great, he knows the system and can stretch the floor. Would be a more experienced version of David Andersen. We approve!!!
Totally. Yao/Miller/Hayes Scola/Hill Ariza/Battier Martin/Budinger Brooks/Lowry + Draft pick That would be an awesome C trio. Frustrating teams with Hayes, Miller eating up minutes for Yao, and then Yao- enough said.
I think he'll be our temporary starting C first the first half of the season. Start Miller instead on Hayes and have him man the high post and scola on the low post. Back him up with a Rookie Centre from the draft, or marcus camby. At the moment I dont see Morey being able to pry any serviceable shot blocking centres from any team in the league through trades.
I'm a little surprised that a true 7-foot 12 year veteran is getting compared to David Andersen as a mild upgrade? This man once had corn rows.
Eh.... their games are just similar. I mean... I know Brad Miller has more talent even though he's 34.
