Trying to break away from listening to 610 all day and actually get a bit more educated on just world events in general. What station is NPR on or some other News oriented Station [with preferrably strong signal.] Rocket River
88.7 KUHT has NPR from 6-8 (i think) 90.1 KPFT has Pacifica Broadcasts, BBC world news and Democracy Now all morning till 10 am 740 AM has news most of the day
From KUHF.org (in case link doesn't work for you) http://www.kuhf.org/site/PageServer?pagename=audiostreaming
KPFT can be listened live...but it is somewhat "canny" sounding, as I recall, so I listen to it only on radio. http://www.kpft.org/ NPR on KUHF is 6-9am now, and 4-6pm with the Market report after it. The weekend hours are different. Also, Pacifica has the best music hour. Check out the "World Cafe" out of Philedelphia. They have great interviews and live music in their studios. It is different hours in different cities. In Houston, on KPFT, it is 1-3pm. It used to be 12-2pm. Well, actually. The best music hour is Soular Grooves (DJ Sun). But that is not syndicated. It is only for Houston listeners. 9-11pm on Saturday. KPFT. The entire weekend music lineup is pretty awesome on KPFT.
NPR is awesome. I tried listening to other talk radio/ news shows and I couldn't I tuned into Jim Rome one day and the man was making stupid jokes that only he could laugh at, pausing after every word that came out of his mouth, and actually had about a minute of silence after one of his jokes. God it was terrible, do people actually listen to him?
