I know its a hard decision. A couple of years ago it would have been a no-brainer to choose Francis, but now its a lot harder. If you were about to play a basketball game in your local gym, which one would you want as your point guard? I choose Francis...by a slim margin.

I go with Francis. BD is good but SF is better. Hey even there stats can prove who is better. Wait til SF matures and has team mates he can trust. He will put up numbers like Payton all the time. 22,10,7

they both can score equally, but davis looks to pass more.

they both can distribute the ball euqally, but steve looks to shoot more.

    steve gets the rebounding edge.

    baron getd the defencive edge.

    i'd call it even.

It depends on what kind of player you like more. Francis is more of a scorer then Davis and could get around 25ppg, but is that what you realy want from a PG? Davis is a team player, and get the rest of the team better so I pick Davis. I would like to have Davis at PG and Francis at SG, man that would be cool.

    how MANY times????

I think Steve's better, you think Baron's better...

Baron was surrounded by better players, but they're almost identical

    Slight edge to Steve

Baron is a better passer and defender. Baron doesn't dribble off his foot so much. Steve is more fun to watch. Don't discount that - it's important. It's one reason Steve's a fan favorite and an allstar.

Baron is not as quick of the dribble as Steve is, but he has a stronger
upper body to take the hits when he does drive. So, he makes up for that.

Steve has a better jump shot.

But, here's where Baron has an avantage over Steve.

Baron can palm the ball, thus he's able to drive to the basket
and not lose the ball out of his hands.

Steve has to becareful when he drives. So, he just beats everyone
with speed. He can't afford to have someone swipe at the ball
because he can't move it out of the way because he has small hands
    (can't palm the ball).

    Some other differences...

Steve wants to win (inner desire to win).

Baron rather look good, than win (less desire to win).

Although I like both, I think SF is better. IMO SF is slightly better in stats, but Davis has a better cast and gets more assists. (IMO.)
I wouldn't doubt them being 1 and 2, and meeting in the finals someday, though.

Hey, neither one of those guys would pass me the ball. I'll take my neighbor across the street.

Their games are almost identical. Both are explosive leapers. Both are great ball handlers. Both are great passers that wow you at least once a game with a pass you could not have concieved of. Both are above average shooters. Baron probably plays a little better D and Steve definately shoots better free throws. Baron has more assists on a better shooting team and Steve has more rebounds on a poor rebounding team. Baron made the playoffs in a weak eastern conference with a suprise team last year and opened some eyes with his play. Had Steve made the playoffs in 2000 I think he would have done the same. I would gladly take either one of them. they are both going to be excellent point guards for a long time.

Steve Francis. The guy is exlosive, means more to the team as a whole, plays in the West.

Steve also has a winning record in head to head match-ups.

Steve Francis has better skills but his game slipped a little last year with the shoulder injury and headaches. When he comes back at full strength next year it won't even be a contest who the better player is. Stevie Franchise!

I think Francis is better, although I may be a tad biased. I think Steve is quicker and more athletic, and he is a much better rebounder. The only reason Baron might be considered better is that his team wins, but that's only because he has a better team around him: Elden Campbell, PJ Brown and J-Mash. But I really think this debate is not even close, Stevie wins in a landslide.

I think mav3434 summed it up best. Until last year, Steve was definetely ahead of Baron, but because of injuries and a better surrounding cast, Davis did better last year. If Steve comes back healthy, I think he will get to the level Davis is at, and maybe be even a little better.
