They'd compete better, but wouldn't make it. I love Lowry, and I would like to see him start next season once Yao comes back, but his impact isn't that big.

The games Lowry played, Rockets had a winning percentage of 54.5%, not close enought to catch 8th place's 61.3%

Anything could happen. Its the butterfly effect. Any of those wins could have changed the standings dramatically and hurtled a team that was destined to the playoffs out of there.

Yes, Lowry is a differenct maker, but not to the point that he can win 8 more games for Rockets in 15 games.

The team won 40% without Lowry, 54.5% with Lowry this year, which is huge, but still not enough to catch 61.3% for 8th spot.

Well, anything could happen. We might win more than that, or less than that. But the odds is we'd come up short anyway.

you say he's the reason we didn't make the playoff, and then you say that its because of his injury, soooo I'm guessong he's also the reason we were even close to making the playoffs right....either way, when he was out, everyone tried to step it up..but yea, salute to the guy he's f******g amazing!!! DM SHOOULD REALLY MAKE IT A PRIORITY TO GET HIM BACK IN UNIFORM

Lowry just feels like a 94-95 Rockets championship role player.

    Let's put it this way:

Rockets won 6 out of 15 without Lowry, they need to win 8 more games, which means 14 out 15 to catch 8th spot.

I don't think they can do that, with or without Lowry.

There is a phenomenon in statistics where the 'average' of two win percentage can be higher than either win percentage.

Lets take a 82 game season, lets assume that Lowry has missed 20 games and played in 62 games.

    Then we expect to win 20*0.4 + 64*0.545 = 49.79 games

    49.79/82 = 60.7% win rate

That is just too easy, and hard to predict, Ariza was out too.

Lowry makes a big difference, all of our players do....we had a thin margin this year, could not afford ANY injuries.

Next year, with all the experience from the young guys this team will be even better.

That becomes 84 games. Need a better assumption.

I was about to get angry...

I don't think you can have AB without Kyle Lowry. He is so important to the team, I can't wait for him to come back healthy, and ready to go for a playoff run.

Don't forget about Morey! He is gonna be our real MVP when he gets us Bosh or another free agent or all-star through a sign and trade.

With Morey, I would't be suprised if we did a sign and trade with Toronto with Battier + Jeffries + Hill and a bag of pretzels for Bosh.

With those western team playing like that, I think Rockets would miss playoffs with full strength anyway, not by 8 games like they do now, but maybe 2 or 3 games.

Agreed. AB plays so much better when Kyle Lowry is capable of playing too.

Look out. This is going to end up being another Brooks vs. Lowry thread.

    What a misleading title.

Kyle is my favorite Rockets too. And I thought he should start next season with Yao back. Brooks, with all the guns he has, can come off the bench and shoot the lights out for us. Brooks will be MIP this year, and Sixth man award next year. The Rockets, however, will only get one championship next year.

Brooks/Lowry give us everything we need from the PG spot, I love it.

Do Kevin Martin/Chase Bud/Shane Battier and Trevor give us championship wings?

Count me in for a big, physical wing like Gerald Wallace to help our tiny backcourt out.

    Completely agree with you.

AB just like a brainless player on the court, he is the reason we lost even if he is hot in some games which we could win. He is a no defence player, too.
