anybody catch brooks' giant smile after ariza's 10 point run? almost makes up for losing landry's big smile.
Great win, Martin/Ariza blew up and we clinched a winning record when NO one thought we could but can we play Jordan Hill more then 8 and 9 minutes a game??? Is that to much to ask???
In the long-term, it's better for Hill's confidence to have played limited minutes but productive minutes in a game and have the team win--than for him to play a lot of minutes in a game and lose.
Really...I mean maybe your right, but I would think getting him minutes so he can get accustomed to the NBA game speed and RA's system would help him a ton next season(Where ever he might play )
I am just sick of watching Chuck and Fishhead play while the athletic 6ft10 guy oozing with potential sits on the bench.
I think Hill may actually be a better starter alongside Yao, actually, even though Scola is by far the better player. Yao needs a mobile rebounder and shotblocker to complement him, somebody who can explode from the weakside and do some damage. That could really turn around our interior presence. Then Scola can become the sixth man and go-to scorer off the bench (along with Lowry and Budinger).
it was just landry goofing around in the backgroud during an interview between drexler and martin. landry waved the peace sign and threw a shirt in the crowd. looks like he's having fun in sactown
He is the taller Chuck Hayes. That is why I think Chuck's days are done in Houston....no room for $10 million in salary for the same type of player. DD
How long are we on the hook for JJ's contract? Maybe after it's up we can pull a Big Z/Cleveland move, I doubt that many people will want the Chuckwagon if we let him go.
Looking forward to next year with Yao and the draftees added to this core. After watching the Budinger dunk again, his new name is Studinger.
This game and the game against Charlotte would have been losses without Martin keeping us in the game. Ariza might have gotten hot at the end and started bombing away, but we would have been down by 20 if it wasnt for Martin keeping us in. As for Hill not playing much in the second half. I noticed he tweaked his ankle a bit but stayed in the game for a few minutes. It probably swelled up a bit when he rested at half time and they decided Jefferies and Scola should just finish the game. He still makes alot of mistakes that are mostly mental so I understand Adelman going with the seasoned group to get the win. We will know how good Hill is going to be when we see if he works hard and makes improvements over the summer.
Im not. He actually can play defense and rebound. I never thought I would see the day when the Rockets would give up 130+ points to teams multiple times in a season. We need Defense to win in this league and especially the West.
Why would we trade what we've been looking for?? A 6'11 backup PF/C with shot-blocking and rebounding ability, and some decent post moves, jump shot needs a little refinement but still looks great? We gave up Landry to get the wing we needed, and we have Landry's replacement now. All we need now is a solid backup for Yao and we're set for a couple championship runs.
Man I just watched the highlights from last night and I have to admit even I was surprised at the way Bud scored last night. Atleast 5 drives going to the basket that showed surprising quickness off the bounce and a couple of All Star-level type moves and shots. After 3.5 years I'm still surprised at his athleticism sometimes. I really don't think he has scratched the surface of his potential yet. The spacing of the NBA suits his game better , I have always said, but it all depends on how his game and ball handling develops
