  2. Ray Allen Theory (Dead Eye Shooter)

    29.1%
  3. Tracy McGrady Theory (Shooting in Rhythm)

    19.5%
  4. IDGAF Theory (As long as Brooks does his thing, who cares?)

I think AB is more "dead-eye" than Ray Allen. AB is much shorter, handles the ball more and has to create his 3 pt. shot most of the time and not off the catch and shoot like Allen.

Dude, this isn't the time or place. I am one of those who thinks Morey should sell high on AB but this is about his 3 point shooting not assist to turnover ratio in the 4th qtr. Give the guy his props and I am sure a thread or two will pop up sooner or later.

Which makes it more amazing that he's averaging almost 40% right?

Dude. It can't be because he keeps shooting 'til he makes them.. obviously. Or his % wouldn't be 40.

When you shoot 40% from behind the arc, you can shoot as many threes as you want. Bottom line.

BTW, Aaron shoots so many threes, that it affects his overall FG%. He shoots about 46% inside the arc. That 43% overall FG% is misleading. I guess this is why we have that eFG% stat.

His average distance must be at least from 26 feet. There's no way he's a chucker

Brooks might be one of the best jump shooters in the game today just based on the difficulty of the shots he often knocks down. There are guys who shoot better shots but you almost never see them knocking down ones as difficult as the ones Brooks often makes.

he's just a good shooter and the shooting percentage dont lie and he has taken some difficult shots this year, some which entered was good but some which didnt was considered a bad shot. anyway with the big guy back next year in the middle, AB and KM will get more open shots. after going through a full season as the starting PG, i believe AB is ready for the challenges he faces next year. the best way to play with Yao is to surround him with shooters and we now have AB, KM, TA, SB and CB. even Scola is a good shooter from the mid-range. look at what Orlando did with D-Howard, they surrounded him with shooters, VC(Previously Hedo which brought them to the NBA Finals), Barnes, Pietrus, Lewis. the only key to Rockets success next season will be health.

Somewhere in between Allen and Tmac. He's not a pure shooter like Allen...there's much more to his game then that. He's a scorer like Tmac, but he's a better shooter and relies on speed much more then atheticism. Also, so much more of a team player then Tmac was. I completely expect to see his touches and FG attempts to drop significantly next season.

Brooks is the only Rockets player I would like to see him shooting more 3s than driving to the hoop. That seems to be more efficient, and less TO prone.

Rafer posted percentages of .327 in his worst season to .363 in his best. He still fired 4+ threes per game even though his percentages were atrocious to fair, depending on the year.

Aaron is hanging around .400, which is well past elite for a guy who's not just a spot shooter. Yeah, he's throwing up more than Rafer ever did. But there's a simple fact about scoring (it's why I moved past the 'Kobe is a ballhog' shtick I had in the early post-Shaq years). The goal of offense is to score. When you score at a rate superior to the rest of the league, it's a good thing to shoot more as long as your volume doesn't drop your percentage.

Putting the ball in the basket is kind of the goal. So subjectively speaking, D, but statistically, B.

he takes a lot of long 3's and he makes them, but it's not offense you can rely on in the playoffs. he shoots kind of like JR smith except hes a bit more efficient.
