Just got back from a stay on Lake Como in Italy. The place is fantastic. Sunny but in the mountains. There are towns all around the lake which sits at the foot of the Alps on the Italian-Swiss border. Fly into Milan and take a short train (about 40 minutes) into the area. Spectacular place. Bellagio is the 'pearl of the lake' and the namesake of the casino in Vegas. Great food and atmosphere would be perfect for a honeymoon (although hearing 'Prego' all the time I couldn't get those old spagetti commercials out of my head)...
Great, I've been meaning to head down there for awhile. Post some info here, or email me through the board. Thanks.
One word: HAWAII I took my gorlfriend there in June and we had a GREAT time! We went to the isle of Oahu and stayed on Wakiki Beach. They've got Pearl Harbor, Aloha Bowl, Polynesian Culural Center (awesome show), and of course you can just hang on the beach. Its pretty cheap as well. I'm only 1yr. out of college and I'm going to law school this fall so if I can afford it, anyone can. Its a beautiful place and I highly recommend it.
I'm probably gonna get hammered for this, but here goes. My wife had never gone to Disney World as a kid. so I took her there on our honeymoon in December. 2 days at Universal...5 days at Disney...it was great. And the evening dining at Epcot can be very romantic. I recommend sitting outside at the Italian place. Wonderful. And now when she wants to recreate our honeymoon...I get to go to Disney.
http://www.geographia.com/st-lucia/ Another cool place, the one with the open air rooms is Ladera on St. Lucia. This is the most gorgeous island in the Caribbean. One of the Sandals resorts is located there too. My fiance's sister and her husband stayed at Ladera for 3 nights and they said that it was private and romantic. Then they went to Sandals for the next 7 days. The first thing that happens when they arrive is they popped open a bottle of chamaigne for them while they got their room ready. Everything is included in the price you pay...all meals...as much as you want to eat...all alcohol...as much as you want to drink...all room service...all activities, including volleyball, snorkling, scuba, island tours...all included. The only thing that you might have to pay for are souveniers...and the really fine cuban cigars...other than that...everything else is included....no tipping...no cash. This is Ladera resort: http://www.stluciatravel.com/ladera.asp?ref=ov Sandals St. Lucia: http://www.honeymoonsinc.com/SandalsResorts.asp There are two Sandals resorts in St. Lucia...the golf one and the more romantic one. The cool things about these places is that they are couples only, no kids...or singles trying to hook it up all the time. Everyone there is either on their honeymoon or some kind of celebratory anniversary or something like that. So they totally are geared for newly-weds and couples. I got this from a wrestling website: Reportedly, it is almost certain that WWE Wrestlemania X-9 will take place at Safeco Field in Seattle, Washington. Apparently, the stadium can seat about 55,000 for the wrestling event and seeing as Seattle will be home to the August 12th Raw and the August 13th Smackdown, it would be a great opportunity for WWE make it official at that time. About the honeymoon ideas, what about the Bahamas/Carribean, Florida Keys, Greece, or Cancun?
