I want to hang my 42 inch LCD TV on the wall but my main problem right now is trying to decide on what TV mount to buy. Are all mounts created equal or does it really matter. I'm thinking about getting this one here

I found a few places on craigslist that do installation for $100 but does that include hiding the wires.

all mounts are not created equal.

you can buy a cheap $50 mount and maybe that will be all you need, most likely you won't need a higher end $200 mount. a couple of things to consider would be do you want it to tilt, how much tilt do you want, or maybe you want an articulating arm.

where are you mounting it and where is your main viewing area going to be?

    monoprice.com

Bought all of my mounts there for less than $40 shipped. After mounting the mount, I hung on it. They are great quality.

The mount you listed isn't very low-profile. You can get mounts at monoprice that have less than an inch sticking out.

In fact, you should buy all of your AV stuff there. You're a sucker if you buy wires, etc, at any big box store like Best Buy or Walmart.

Another vote for monoprice.com. It'll save you hundreds of dollars and the quality is just as good. I didn't have any problems with my mount from them, for my 46 incher.

I'm sorry, but anybody who spends more then $25-50 for a wall mount is dumb. Another vote for monoprice.com. I've bought at least six for myself or family members and never had a problem. And I'm relying on them for expensive big screen Sonys, Samsungs and even Elites.

can never go wrong with monoprice.

Bought one off Amazon a few months ago for around $27 + tax. Easy to put up, works like a charm.

Unless monoprice steals your credit card and info.

I have bought wall mounts and cables from monoprice.com, never had any problems with any of items bought there! Saved hundreds of $$ by not buying at B&M stores!!

Never tried that, but a while back bought an HDMI switcher from monoprice and it worked like a charm. Doesn't monoprice have reviews too. See what it says for that product?

That can happen anywhere. Doesn't have to be an online store. I'm in retail myself (coffee shop) and it would be pretty simple for me to commit credit card fraud.

I got a Sanus mount from Amazon for 60 bucks. It works just fine; the plate is one solid, sturdy piece of metal and the tv hooks right on. No way you need to spend over 100 for a wall mount.

Make sure you drill it into some studs though...we didn't have two evenly spaced ones so we centered the mount on one stud and then used toggle bolts on the sides.
