Well, it looks like Dallas is the leading candidate in the RM95's Girl/RM95 relocation sweepstakes.

So, for you few Dallas residents, what are your thoughts about apartments? I was kind of discouraged by looking this weekend until right before we left. Everything was too expensive in the areas I want to live except for apartments in cookie cutter places (especially the Village...whoa). I found a place on Cole just south of Knox that rents for $525/mo. It's a pretty small place, probably 550 sq. feet (maybe less), but it's in a good and quiet area within walking distance to restaurants, bars, etc. Plus, RM95's Girl can afford a much more expensive place, so she'll probably be getting a really nice luxury apartment closer to downtown.

Do you think I should jump on this, or will I find more like it if I go through an apartment locator?

I never had any luck dealing with those apartment locators in the DFW area. Any apartments I've found have been by driving around until I saw something and inquiring within.

Of course, I live in one of those cookie cutter places (in Plano, no less), so maybe I'm the wrong guy to ask.

There's nothing wrong with that, that's where I've always lived and always liked. I've just always wanted to live in a more unique place. Plus, if I can find one for cheaper, then that's even better.

The Village was pretty much the only thing that turned me off though. I'd have gladly picked any of the other places if I could've afforded them. However, 15 complexes or so right after another kinda turned me off.

I had moved from Houston close to a year ago and I love it up here. I live in a nice area....not ghetto at all....near the SMU campus....near to the bars, clubs, and restaurants in Lower Greenville...and the prices are very reasonable. Check this site out for more information:

    http://www.thevillageapts.com

They are owned by Lincoln Properties and have 14 apt. complexes. Very nice! Check it out!

I guess you didn't read the part of my posts that said I didn't like The Village. :D

So if you move to Dallas does that mean you will start organizing get togethers for us Dallasites as opposed to those bastards in Austin? :D

Well, when did you try out the Village? So far, it has been fine for me....and they have so many other complexes to choose from. Personally, I would recommend it. I'm sorry you had a bad time w/ them.

Absolutely. I know one guy up there, that's it. I also wanna star in mrpaige's movies.

No, the girl that went with us on Saturday had nothing but great things to say about The Village. I just think that I'm in the mood for something more unique and smaller. Of course, I'll probably end up there. :)

You should rent out my Dad's guest bedroom in Highland Park. Its a phatty phat bachelor pad in the heart of Dallas.

Is this a temporary thing? (Living by yourself).

Did you get my email (sent to your swerve.com address)?

Seriously Drew? Is it just a bedroom?

    It's just for me.

And I just responded to your work e-mail. I was a monster at the cages this afternoon.

Hell I could always ask him. He is NEVER there on the weekends (In Houston visiting his girlfriend), and on average probably there about 3-4 nights during the week. It might intrigue him, so long as you dont throw a huge fiesta and burn the place down or something. Big plus is that its fully furnished. Only problem is that area is SUPER snotty. Meaning you would have to trade your Ranger in for something German or Japanese.

I'll give it a shot. Worst he can say is no......

FYI: He has a 2/2, so you would have your own bathroom (which is actually bigger than his).

Oh, I thought it was like a guest house or something...don't bother.

BTW, I got an Explorer now! :) But that's not Japanese or German. :(

That, and I'm a beast against the slow-pitch pitching machine.

The village has crime problems; I don't recommend it.

You'll live where we tell you to live. You turned the decision over to the BBS, now let the BBS handle things.

525 a month for a 550 square foot apt. is really good. I pay 585 (and I pay lowest rent in my complex, everyone else pays 610) for a 525 square foot in Austin.
