First off, I'd like to say this to some of our lazier and (I guess they believe) hipper members:

IF U CN RD THIS, U R KEWL FO SHO!

STOP IT! It's irritating, makes you look stupid, wastes our time, and devalues your posts (and thoughts). You may not bother pulling your pants up past your *SS, but at least put some effort into your posts. Stop disrespecting one of the highest quality sports boards on the net.

Second, this is a bad idea. Sam's defense is not necessarily better than Steve's at the point, and Steve's defense is definitely not better than Cat's at the 2. Besides, we already discussed and analyzed the statistics on Cuttino's defense. Guess what? We found out that he is better than average.

On offense, Sam would not be an upgrade over Steve, and Steve would not be much of an upgrade over Cuttino.

I guess the only positive thing I can say about this idea is that at least it was original.

The only player on this team I would trade to get him would be Langhi

Francis is already pouting because Ming is being pandered as the season ticket poster boy on HIS team. How do you think he'd be if his Podnah Cuttino was traded?

Ok, this is my first post ever. The talk about Mobley for Cassell....mute......never going to happen. But I think what we are looking for is a really solid veteren to back the team. Our starters are young. Young is good, but we need someone who has been there before. Someone from the bulls, spurs, lakers, or hell.....the rockets championship teams

Sam is a fantastic player....I went to many of the games at Florida State and lived in Houston during the "clutch-city" back to back hampionship years and am a huge fan of the man....BUT...he is getting a bit long in the tooth and the chemistry between Stevie and Moochie is just too good to disrupt. (most already consider them one of the top three tandems in the entire league) As much as I would love seeing Sam back in a rocket uni, it just wouldn't be the wisest thing to do...........CR

I am so proud of this forum for reacting like this to such a stupid idea. I was afraid that when I looked at it there might be a bunch of cheesey sentimental replies harkening back to the old championship days. Sam was the shizniz back then in a back up role but my gosh man, what do you want to do next - trade EG for Horry?

The fact that we traded an expired Olajuwon for what eventually became Nachbar was such a great idea and it is the reason that we won't have such hard times like the Celts did after they kept Bird, McHale and Parrish instead of cashing them in for the future. There will always be a place in my heart for Sammy, but it is time for new things. Imagine how excited George Karl would be to get Mobes for Sam.

The only players either associated with or active with the Rox,which are even to be considered for a trade etc. Willis, Langhi, William, Collier, Rice, Norris, Brown,Maddox and Morris. The rest of the team is set except for the possible trade of Power Forward. IMHO
