The Rockets have 40 wins now, and can get 44 wins at the most. Not enough to make the playoffs in the West. I remember a lot of people were in favor of tanking the season in Oct. and Nov. 09. So, my question is whether looking back now, you'd rather the team have half the number of wins that it did.
I appreciate the effort this team put in. 40-44 games is much better than 20-22. The core of this team learned a lot, which is more valuable in the end.
40-44. You win as many games as you can, especially when you have a great GM like Morey who can find borderline all-stars in the late first round or the second round.
I'd take my chances being barely out of the playoffs rather than relying on a high draft pick to get us there. Doubt the pick would improve our record by 20-ish games to get to 40-44wins, not including Yao's impact.
Experience is very valuable........but so are draft picks. Yes Morey finds alot of talent late in the draft.....but thats just why you should want to get him a higher one. If he gets these gems at 26-45, imagine what he could get if he was in the top 10
40-44 means you are a couple of players away from being a serious threat while 20-22 probably means you have a LONG way to go...i'll take the shortest route to the finish line.
I hope people who are answering this question are being sarcastic. If not then I feel sry for some of you.
"Looking back, would you of rather your team played bad and getting a high lottery pick rather than working hard and developing good playing habits?" ...the latter....
