The Rockets also used to be the greatest team ever to not make the playoffs and (still are?) the only team ever to shut out an entire division. Same year I believe.

I does have a sarcastic tone at the end.. It's an interesting stat but this article screams of "SO WHAT"

I tend to disagree with Morey's proclamation. In my view, when you have to make not one but two points of clarification to support your point, your point wasn't worth making. I do think that we achieved a lot for a team that as constructed has exceeded anybody's expectations (in my view, by about 10-15 more wins by this point). This is a view that is widely shared. With that said, it's quite a stretch to assert that anybody who was on the Rockets' roster this year - McGrady and Landry included - deserved an All-Star birth, which is an argument that may be fairly inferred from Morey's own words. Abbot's tongue was firmly in cheek on that point, even though I perceive a humorous, albeit respectful jab at Morey in the article.

This discussion can be resolved if the Rox played the Bucks in a 7 game series for the prestigious title of being the best team without an all-star.

    I'd say 4-2 Rox.

    Correction:

no all star on the team = failure of the foot (Yao), knee (T-Mac), and brain (Artest)

Further, our team has at least 3 borderline all-stars, FWIW.

The Bucks are in the East, the Rockets would be in the playoff if we are in the East. I think we are better than the bucks.

I think 20 years from now our 22 winning streak team should be inducted to the hall of fame ..

They simply were the defenition of a team .. Just think about the great teams the passed in the process .. Amazing

Rockets against east this season: 13:16. our record would be worse if Rockets are in the east.

Scola is making allstar numbers, even if he doesn't play the allstar game

a commenter in that espn thread remarked that the Rockets also rank #1 in strength of schedule compared to the Bucks ~25th or so.
