they need to cut the season by at least 30 games, too many injuries, and i am not just talking about yao, but an 82 game season plus the playoffs will take its toll on anyone, especially big guys like yao
This. The season should be 50 games long. By the time a team wins a title, they'd have played about 75 games, give or take a couple. Unfortunately, the league will never cut the schedule for one reason: dinero. But it's a good idea for the long-term health of the league and its stars. But again: the league thinks in corporate terms, which means myopic plans for immediate profits. In the current format, teams in the Finals have played almost 110 games (after averaging just 40 a year in high school/college). That puts an insane amount of mileage not just on the Yaos and other big men, but also on the Kobes and LeBrons. Unsurprisingly, the NFL wants to add two regular season games to its schedule. QB injuries will skyrocket, great teams will get to the Super Bowl and have to play their backup QBs, etc. But that's for another forum....
Who's trading for Amare? He is a FA this off-season. I don't see him as real elite though. I think he is a product of having Nash run and gun.
How about just having top 16 team overall in the playoff not like 8 from east and 8 west so we won't have disadvantage to the east team. Thats just my opinion.
No matter where they are picking, they will pick the best available white guy or light skinned black guy. It kind of limits their choices. The wouldnt pick wall or cousins. Maybe the big from kansas. He has essence of ostertag all over him.
The Clippers have made the playoffs once in 25 years in LA, despite having their share of great players and high draft choices. They suck and will continue to suck until they finally escape from the evil hands of Donald Sterling.
07-08 denver the 8th seed with 50 http://www.nba.com/standings/2007/team_record_comparison/conferenceNew_Std_Cnf.html
I don't know if the Suns lose Stoudemire if actually affect them that much. Yes, Stoudemire is very athletic and got good handles, but half his points comes from Nash. With a passer like Nash, even Hill can look amazing too. The Suns definitely won't be as good without Amare, but I don't think they will fall out of the playoffs picture because of it.
Not a big fan of either of them. From looking at his game, Amare seems a little selfish and cocky to me. He doesn't play enough team basketball, which won't fit well in our system. I would taking the aging Nash or the developing Dragic over him any day. Bosh on the other hand is injury prone. He is a good scorer in the post, but we already have Yao for that.
I don't think it will be that bad. I think we'll be the 7th or 8th seed like we are most of the team. With Boozer expected to be gone with the same goes to Amare, I think we'll make it in if everybody is healthy.
