This was cool to go to in highschool, but its turned into white trash city. Way better off getting friends together and boiling your own. Weather should be great for those going though.
Can't wait to eat me some mud bugs. SFA has a big festival every year, hope i make it out there early enough to get some crawfish this year lol. Had a burger last year because they were out. Some family friends always throw a huge block party every year cooking crawfish all afternoon with some kegs, and jello shots. Will be hitting that up soon.
They got great crawfish there. It's also alot of fun to people watch. The title should be Texas Crawfish/Whitetrash Festival.
While ya'll are there, stop by Simply Texas Gourmet Foods. It's an awesome hot sauce shop (Formerly Dave's Pepper Palace) owned by some very good friends of mine.
Question: One you pay $7 a person to get in the door, don't you also have to pay for any crawfish you eat?
I'm thinking about going up there with the Family on Sunday since we have to be out of the house all day for an open house and we all love crawfish. How much do they go for per pound at the festival?
I grew up in Spring. The festival has gotten pretty trashy over the years and hope I don't get lured into going.
You pay $7 to get into the live music area. You can just park and then walk around old town spring where they have all the booths that sell the crawfish.
Sold the house in the Heights about 5 years ago and moved to Cypress. Selling this house due to unemployment and hopefully moving to Austin this summer.
You will find trashy people at every festival. Pay them no attention. I think it will be better this year since there is a $7 fee.
It's Texas. You can't go anywhere without running into white trash although I will admit that only the Texas Renaissance Festival surpasses the Crawfish Festival in density of white trash.
What's the average cost of food. Some friends invited me and I want to make sure I bring enough cash.
Sorry to hear that man, hope things work out for you in Austin What was your field, if you dont mind me asking?
If I recall correctly, he's in graphics and graphic design. Years ago, when he lived in the Heights, he invited me over once to watch a Rockets game (I live just west of the Heights in Timbergrove). Cool guy. Hope you find work, VDP!
