The number of games is the biggest disparity and landry is still slightly better. Landry has a big advantage in FG efficency and scoring but Hill is a better rebounder and defender.

Pretty similar. I think this is good for Hill, especially given he just joined the team and spent the first 2/3 of the season under a crappy coach. That means he also didn't have the benefit of the offseason and exhibition period that landry would have had.

give hill a training camp with adelman first. Landry had the benefit of t-mac setting him up for easy dunks and also a good half season more under the coaching staff to teach him how to play with the team.

They're 2 different players, but i love what Hill is showing me right now rebounding and scoring off the catch and also his passing is not bad also (only with chase lol).

A lot of our players have made leaps though, I think the coaching staff here does a great job of developing guys like him and Hill is prbly the best they have had to work with, as far as tools/skills go.

Once Hill gets a Summer and Pre season with the organization he will eventually be a beast himself.

Landry used to dunk on everything when he was a rookie.

    This.

AND Hill hasn't played the whole season with us yet (which another poster referred to).

Boy, I can't WAIT to see this team in action next year, with Yao, our draft picks, and any FA acquisitions.

hmm you guys remember much of landry's rookie year?

re: guys talking about landry's PT and him playing with Yao/tmac

landry didn't play much entire first half of the season. he got called up after Yao got hurt and during that 22 win streak both Tmac and Yao took turns sitting

the arch of his rookie season is similar to Hill all around cept a few more games before all-star break for Landry compared to Hill

It's pretty fair to say he's a better athlete and a better rebounder. Certainly he has the size and length to be a presense defensively unlike Landry. But I don't think he will ever learn to be the scorer Carl is. That's fine though, if Jordan can give us 14 and 9 with a defensive presence, I'll take that.

not really a fair comparison considering where they were drafted. I don't think anyone expected Landry to pan out the way he did. It's almost expected of Hill to make an impact since he was drafted in the top 10.

Hill just performs like his ceiling is higher. Landry had some explosive leaping ability (it faded somewhat) but Hill just looks all-around more capable in his first year. Hill looks like a Great Dane out there just waiting to come into his own.

He could as rookie. He was a Rocket so he had a lot of problems from getting tooth knocked out to getting shot. He was much more explosive back then and a better rebounder.
