    I don't mind it that much, but at least once in a while can't they show and Thunder game or a Rockets game on TNT/ABC?

    I love Bull, Bill, and Clyde, but sometimes you just gotta spice up the broadcast.

    Watch, next year when Yao comes back and we get a free agent, we will be on ESPN/ABC/TNT too! I can't wait!

    You're right, it's been this way as long as I can remember. I always hated in the late 90's when every NY vs. Miami game was on TV. Those were painful to watch.

    But there are several top teams that aren't getting airtime. Dallas, Denver, Utah, Phoenix, and even OKC are all as good this year as the Celtics.

    I'll add something that ticks me off a lot and contributes to the problem:

    On TNT Thursdays, there are often no other NBA games being played, so to watch ANY games that night, you must bow to TNT. If there were a full slate of games going on, TNT would be able to switch up and offer some variety.

    The same thing applies to ABC on Sundays except I think there is a moronic rule where other games cannot be shown on live TV (anywhere) at the same time, which nukes the idea of scheduling concurrent games.

    The bottom line is that being able to see the complete list of national TV games before the season starts is stupid and counterproductive. It locks things in way too early.

    You're absolutely right about the Thursday schedule. With the ABC Sunday games, I think they have the option of moving the start time for some games after the start of the season. I seem to remember a Rockets game getting dropped from the schedule last year.

    Can I ask if you have NBALP only play the home team commentators? I was wondering if somebody buys the package and you only get the home team commentators or you get two channels with the others commentators.

    ABC is probably the worst broadcasting station to watch an NBA game. everything just feels so forced. the soundtrack is even annoying.

    I think the game that was dropped was the Rockets/Spurs game for the Heat/Pistons game. I remember because the Heat game ended up being a snooze fest and a blowout while the Rockets game ended up being epic with Yao assisting on 2 late game field goals that won the game to Scola.

    Here are the highlights of that epic game that ABC missed out on:

    Spurs are shown too much ugh. We need to showcase the future of the league, okc, the bulls etc. Ya know the young talent that will one headline the NBA. Plus why not show durant who's a humble guy with a bright future versuses a dick head like lebron?

    You get whoever the NBA decides, which is usually the home team commentators. You don't get a choice.

    The thing with National TV games:

    1. Caters to the teams with the biggest fanbase/audience
    2. Caters to the teams with the biggest names / most stars
    3. Caters to the best teams in the league.

    CLE, ORL, LAL, BOS.

    CLE = 2, 3

    ORL = 2, 3

    LAL = 1, 2, 3

    BOS = 1, 2

    People are usually the fans of their home team which they don't need national TV for or good teams which they need national TV for.

    That's why good teams are shown more often.

    Plus who wants to see Pacers vs 76ers?

    They definitely do. There's a bunch of natural division rivalries in the NFL, especially the NFC East. Cowboys vs Giants/Eagles/Redskins is always billed a must-watch. Brett Favre and Vikings play the Packers twice a year, it works out

    I myself was saying with how the NFL schedule works, they can't force something like a Jets vs Giants TV game every year. Different conferences, similar to interleague baseball (not to mention Jets & Giants share the same stadium, less total ticket sales). More obstacles in the NFL's way. If the NFL COULD they would I think.

    Vikings are forced to play the Detroit Lions twice a year. Add in the Bears, thats 25% of their entire schedule just 2 teams. Really the NFL HAS to hype up Brett Favre. And do a good job of it.

    Do the Celtics really have a large fan base? Who outside of New England likes the Celtics?

    I think so. The Celtics, like the Lakers, have a storied history. They have many followers. These teams are the Packers and Cowboys and Yankees and Dodgers of basketball.
