I just got a speeding ticket. I'm looking to do the DSC (Driving Safety Course) application. I saw safedrivingcentre.com on the Texas Education Agency list of online driving safety courses. Has anyone ever used them before? Seems too convenient to be true PS - If any fellow clutch fans can help dismiss my ticket, please email me through the board. I was only speeding so my fiancee and I wouldn't be late for Alicia Keys concert! I was keeping up with the flow of the traffic, but I was at the back of the pack in the left lane. I politely asked for a warning, but the officer told me "I don't give warnings" with authority
Perfectly legit reason to be speeding. Why didn't you tell the cop that? Yes, online defensive driving courses are for real. In all it's something like 4 hours total, at your own pace, so you don't have to finish it all in one sitting. After you finish, they'll mail you your certificate, then your mail it to the court along with the rest of the requested documents.
i just got a speeding ticket too on friday going 40mph on 30mph zone. i think the cops were definitely out to get people this weekend. you can get the ticket dismissed if you take dsc (if you qualify for dsc that is). i think you are allowed one dismissal a year. a few years ago i took www.safetyusa.com online for my dsc. it was totally legit and it was a smooth process. i would recommend them. check it out.
Thanks for the recommendation. That link seems to not work. I just wanted to make sure, did you mean safety-usa.com?
I know I know...I was just making light of the situation. I was really keeping up with the traffic. It just so happens that I was at the back of the pack and in the left lane. When the pack sped up, I got left behind going 13 over the limit. Seconds later, I see red and blue lights cutting 2 lanes to get behind me. On my ticket, it said that he was "pacing my vehicle" from block A to block B. We ended up missing half of the opening act, Melonie Fiona
I'm thinking about using comedydriving.com I've seen there office in Missouri City, but they recently moved. Seems interesting
www.defensivedriving.com Take the original course. It's super easy. you only really need to watch the videos when they appear to know what they are about when you are asked about them. Speed through, answer questions and do other stuff so each lesson lasts the required amount of time. Just remember to move pages every 10 minutes so you aren't auto logged out.
I've been pulled over 3 times in the past week! After not getting pulled over at all since September when I got my license. Lat tuesday I get pulled over for going 70 in a 60. Officer issues me a citation. Saturday night I get pulled over for turning too wide. Today, I get pulled over for going 78 in a 60. All of these are in the same area. I feel so stupid now. Clutchfans, please help me.....what do I do??? I am completely clueless when it comes to this stuff. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Well I know you are only eligible for defensive driving if you haven't taken it in the past 12 months, correct? So what am I supposed to do when I have 2 separate tickets?
Any of you guys ever used TicketStop.com? They have a free overnight certificate program and mine is due by the 9th.
I just used http://www.idrivesafely.com/ about three months ago. Not bad. Lets you log in and out as you please and gives you ample time to complete the course considering the court date. The certificate came in mail in about three days. Just ask the court/judge for your options it's no big deal they will let you know.
THANK YOU! I used that website for my driver's ed course. I will call the court to find out more information. Rep going your way sir.
