I heard a report on Fox Sports the other night saying that Jason Lane has won the MVP award in every league he's played in. I'm not totally sure that's accurate. Suffice to say...it sounds like he'll develop into something special.

I think I heard something like that too. It was either that or his team has won the championship, or something like that. I can't remember. Still, it may not be completely accurate, like you said.

I do think that he'll end up being a really good player, if not a superstar. He's starting to hit the ball pretty hard...very rare for a guy with less than 20 major league at bats.

It's true. MVP of the NY-Penn league with Auburn Doubledays (A-). MVP of the Midwest League with the Michigan Battlecats (A) and MVP of the Texas League in Round Rock (AA). Pretty good stats in AAA 'Nawlins too in cavernous stadium.

Got a heck of a lot more HR potential than Spiers...DW might be losing his job soon...

It's about time. Fat Ward is useless. Maybe next year we can have an outfield alignment of Berkman-Winn-Lane. That would rock.

By the way, some of the defensive plays that Orlando made tonight were awesome. Thank God Ward sat that one out.

For people who didnt watch the game, Merced tossed someone out at home after a fly ball and he had a diving catch.

I don't care if he does have power, its still going to be tough to live up to Billy Spiers god-like status.

Billy was a great backup-utilityman, don't get me wrong, but people over-inflate what he did. God-like status, eh?

I think you have to allow for a little tongue in cheek humor when discussing The Great Bill Spiers.

Spiers was exactly what this yeam needed at the time. He was gritty and came through in the clutch. Jason Lane will prove to be a multiple time All-Star barring injury.
