My two year anniversary is coming up and I'm hoping to get some ideas for some unique restaurants around Houston. Anybody got any suggestions for some places that are a little different?

    Thanks in advance.

Not necessarily different, but excellent.... Head down to Rice Village and take her to D'Amicos. Best Italian food in Houston and there are some cool bars you can go to in the same area afterword.

Fred's Italian Corner at Greenbriar and Holcombe is very good as well. Quiet atmosphere, good food and friendly people.

I haven't lived there in 6 years, but there's always Chez Nous, which is classic french.

I've also heard rave things about Reef, which is up for a 2010 James Beard award.

Shade in the Heights is one of my favorite restaurants in town

    http://www.shadeheights.com/

the menu is different every time I go, so only a few dishes listed on the website are currently on the menu

Crazy Joey used to work there. I have no idea if he still is, but my wife worked with him back at Ares and thought he was a pretty badass chef (along with Jason Gould formerly of Gravitas before Scott Tycer went bipolar on him). I want to say the owner used to be involved with the Daily Review.

Do not listen to anyone but me. Go to Capital Grille. Do not listen to anyone but me.

I always thought eating at Fogo de Chou was a fun experience, good meat too.

Stay in and cook her the best healthy meal of her life. If all fails, DiGorno is always an option.
