I'd have never seen this show if it wasn't for Netflix streaming. It's like a guilty pleasure to me. It's so silly with the over the top violence and non-stop nudity/sex but it's a solid show nonetheless. I hope Spartacus beats cancer.

Lots of action, blood and sex along with a wounded(emotionally)hero makes for a dam good action/drama. The look in his eyes at the end of last nights episode had BAD INTENTIONS written all over it.

I was wondering when everything would go to crap and he would revolt. In the series synopsis on netflix it also mentions something about whats her face the xena lady being spartacus's mistress...we shall see

Jupiters **** this is an addicting show. Fights scenes are pretty good. Reminds me of 300.

It's an acquired taste but addictive once you get to episode three or four. I'm hooked now but I nearly turned it off halfway through the first episode it was so bad.

I actually turned it off during the first episode. I haven't watched it since. I'm stilling recording them but I do plan on watching it soon. Just been busy with work.

I heard it's great once you get past the first 3 episodes.

Definitely give it a shot. The first episode felt like a cheap, overdone 300 ripoff but after a few episodes it sort of carves out its own identity. I'm completely caught up and each episode gets better and better. The computer generated blood subsides a bit and the story actually becomes quite interesting and the characters seem to find their footing. The writers and actors definitely needed time to find themselves in this story but the payoff is worth it as long as you know you are watching a show based mostly on violence.

My girl and I wanted to watch it together. While she was out of town one night visiting her family, I started watching it alone. And turned it off like 15min in, I was bored....and it felt like a cheap 300 rip off as you stated.

I told my gf the show really seemed lame. We watched the first regardless, then the 2nd.....now I'm to the point I'm said when an episode ends. Great show.

Definitely the show I look forward to most every week.

Too bad only 1 episode left this season, I think. :(

Looks like we will have something to tide us over while Spartacus fights cancer:

Starz Developing a Spartacus: Blood and Sand Prequel

Vulture has learned that Starz is developing a six-episode miniseries prequel to its freshman hit, Spartacus: Blood and Sand, in order to keep the series' momentum after its star, Andy Whitfield, was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma a month ago and production on a second season was indefinitely postponed. The series (the finale of which airs next week) has been Starz's first original-series hit, averaging a million viewers each week; the network green-lighted season 2 a month before it even premiered, but now, with Whitfield in treatment, Starz finds itself with empty sets, actors, producers, and writers very expensively standing by. A prequel (Gladiator Babies, perhaps?) would keep the sets and creative staff productive, while holding on to the original show's fans. Network execs are now in Cannes at the annual MIP TV international programming marketplace, looking at other options, but this spin-off is looking like a tempting bet to fill their January hole. More as this story develops.

Last weeks episode was crazy. Caught me off guard so many times, when I thought I knew what would happen next.

    Absolutely love the show.

Holy crap. Holy crap. Holy crap. Wow. Wow. This is...probably my favorite man-show of all time. Rivaling Conan the Barbarian. Wow. What a finale. Anyone who is on the fence...watch it.

Wife likes it, too. I mean, these guys are all huge, what's not to like for women?

There were points in the finale where I shed dude-tears (of blood).

I'm fairly sure that watching this show guarantees me of many sons and grandsons. They will all play at Allen stadium, by themselves, and win the cup. Whatever that means.

    Can't recommend it enough.
