My point is exactly that. Are we supposed to feel sorry for him? Are we supposed to be angry at how wronged he was? I mean, what the heck. He could probably pay the ball boy to lick it clean. His reaction was way, way overboard and his threats of violence were both ludicrous and despicable. I mean saying stuff like this: Man, he doesn't have to think it's funny, he can even be pissed about it, but that's taking it way too far. The guy is a thug and a primadonna and I'm not going to give him one shred of sympathy.
If someone was to rob you right now... and take your wallet, any jewelry or personal items, and you saw that person someday... wouldn't you want to get revenge on that person? I certainly would...
First, there's a big difference between desiring revenge and publicly threatening revenge while talking to the media. That difference is self control, something every adult human being should be expected to have. Second, it was clearly intended as a joke, without malicious or self-serving intent. It was a stupid joke and he has a right to be annoyed, but it's a lot different than somebody, say, mugging him in the street. Third, if somebody cost me a few hundred or even a thousand bucks when I made so much cash I could wipe my butt with that much money and not feel an ounce of regret, no... I would not be tempted to violence for something like that. For Kenyon Martin the cost of this is the equivalent of a penny to me and you. That's not an exaggeration, either.

I'm sure if they did it JR Smith, K-Mart would have been laughing up and down. Kenyon Martin is garbage and just reassured everyone with this latest act.
If he's that upset about it, he should talk to his lawyer and take legal action, at the most. Not threaten violence and threaten breaking his contract by sitting out of the playoffs.
I think it's the fact that he had trust in his teammates to not go through his things the same way he wouldn't go through theirs. That's the issue here. I can see what you mean though when you say he overreacted, but most of it was legit. That's just the way he is... but don't knock him for being paid a lot. That's just not right.
Moreygetherdone. Lets get KMart to improve Rockets toughness. KMart is a very tough guy and skilled, too.
Its a shame they put all the blame on the kid. Everyone on the team should put in and pay for the damage.
To all those who are saying you have no sympathy for Martin, he's a thug, etc. You're clearly not understanding his reaction. What part of "his anger was not over the prank, but over the fact that someone could go into his pocket and take his keys during a game" did you not understand? This has nothing to do with money and everything to do with invasion of privacy. He has every right to be pissed off. And when people get upset, they say stupid things.
That's the most idiotic prank ever I've seen pulled by a kid on April Fools. Did he get fooled by someone else telling him do that would've approached the goal to make fun of Kenyon Martin?
I agree with this ^^. The fact that someone could during the game go to the locker room, take keys, GO UNNOTICED by security and do a prank is worrying. What if he wanted to do something crazy, evil?
Why not just slash his tires, break the windows and cut up the upholstry? I mean, he could easily afford a new car, amiright?
