Scola had a good game, thanks for letting us know... Hill is not going to start over a guy who can have a 30 point night. I am all for Hill getting big minutes but be realistic.
no, but Hill will play the Carl Landry role...25-30 mins a night, backing up both the PF and C positions.
Next season when Yao is in foul trouble.RA being the genus that he is will start Hill at PF.One of AB,Martin or Scola has to go to the bench when Yao comes back.I say it will be Big Manu.
If Hill wants to start, he needs to beats Louis Scola out for the job, and not in just a few games. Clearly, that has not even come close to happening yet. As a matter of fact, Jordan Hill has beat Scola out in precisely zero games so far. The only people who are keeping this line of discussion going are the people who believe that the players who make the ESPN slam dunk play of the day reel are the best players in the game. News flash for you guys - these players are not necessarily anything of the sort. And while Hill shows a huge amount of potential, so far he is exactly where he belongs, which is coming of the bench for 15-20 minutes a game as a backup to Louis Scola. Outside of the short list of players that are legitimately expected to make the NBA all-star team every year at the power forward position, Louis Scola is one of the best players at his position in the world. Hill has a long way to go before anyone who knows what they are talking about truly believes that he is anywhere close to achieving this stature.
When the spurs where wining rings why was Manu coming of the bench? Was it he the best player at that position?
When Manu came in particularly in 4th quarter he would dominate the game. Hill plays well but he does not dominate the game offensively. He helps on defense cause he will go for the blocks. During the championships Manu hardly started, he came of the bench unless there was injuries. I hope Hill becomes a real force of the bench like Lowry and Landry. Now that Landry is gone Hill has to be the main back up for Scola and Yao. He will take more of Hayes minutes for the rest of the season.
The point i was making is that the best player at the position does not have to always start. Its all about what makes us better a TEAM on BOTH ENDS.BALANCE on BOTH ENDS is what i am talking about.
I don't think his going to start next season, but Scola is 30 years old so maybe in a few years .... It really depends on how Hill develops... --RB
