The obvious canidate would be Jack, since he has been the leader since day 1. But is that too obvious? Hugo would be the worst leader out of all, but does that make him more likly since we dont expect it? Locke is dead... or is he? Does Jarrah's lack of emotions exclude him now, or does that make him a better option?
I voted Jack; but I'm still holding out hope Locke will be back, he was never touched by Flocke; and we've seen him pretty much dead and in a grave before.
The real Locke is dead, and his name has been crossed out, and there's a fake evil smoke monster man in black Locke running around the island. Knowing this show, it's probably Locke.
My prediction: none of the above. Some people will escape and the island with MIB will be destroyed. No successor to Jacob.
I like a Jin-Sun tandem (one as Smokey, one as Jacob), but can also roll very easily with Jack, Hugo, or Locke-X. Sayid works well as a Smokey-2 candidate. And then there's the off chance that Walt, Aaron, Ji Yeon, baby Charlie, etc come into play.
My prediction is that it is Kwon, but not Sun or Jin, but their baby. Since she is not on the island, the MIB is screwed.
Apparently the last episode is called "What They All Died For" (or similar) so I'm assuming that the Jacob vs. The MiB experiment will be over and no need for a Protector to keep evil bottled away from the world.
its kate... shes an unknown candidate check the lighthouse episode....when their in that lighthouse mirror ..her name is on there and isnt scratched off..she # 51
If this is supposed to end as one of the best shows on television, I don't think it will end in a "business as usual" type of ending (i.e. new jacob and locke). It would have to end in a grander fashion than that.
I love Lost, but this show (except for first half of season three) has been a tad cheesier than normal, therefore Jack becomes the last Candidate. If it was one of the kids, I'd probably want my six years back.

Maybe they can just end a random conversation in mid sentence and leave everything hanging. That's what all the good shows do.
Spoiler The title dmc shared is indeed going to be one of the last episodes, but Damon and Carlton confirmed the title of the final episode on their last podcast. not to mention the LOST imdb page has every episode listed. this is info that is readily available if you read the Internet regularly. it's not like anyone here got a hold of the script of the final scene of the final episode.
