Go look at the games he's missed and count the record and you will come out to 66%. 22-12 one year and the 22 win streak year they won like 68% of their games. If you're the man, you're team can't win that much without you unless the team i stacked.

His presence alone will have a positive influence to this teams d-fense. Not to mention the stress he will cause opposing d-fenses.

The way I see it, the 2010-2011 Rockets season for Yao is do or die.

Morey will work his magic in the offseason to aquire a star or two too put alongside Yao and hope we win the championship.

If the season is not up to the standards of what Morey or Mr. Alexander want it to be, we will not offer Yao a next contract. He will have to accept a paycut or let him walk.

We are in position to not only sign someone significant this offseason, but next offseason to with Battier, Jeffries, and Brooks contract up after this season.

Basically, next season, its Yao or Bust!

Even if you count this year with all the young players, over the last 3 seasons, the rockets have played 128 games minus yao and have won 58.5% of the games. If you take out this season with all the transition and the tracy scenerio, we're talking about them winning 67% of the games he didn't play in. Now I know you want to throw in all these other variables, but facts are facts. Since I can't count, www.basketball-reference.com and it will help you out.

Lets not forget who was Yao's backup in the last 3 years.........if it wasn't for his age, he would start for other teams.

If the last 3 seasons, we were forced to start a 6-9 center, that % would drop.

Rockets were blessed to have Deke as a backup center..........

No way. If anything, equal work ethic. I don't think Kobe would be shooting 100 FT's a day while he's in a cast. He'd be too busy, well, you know ...

It's funny that some guys still believe it's Morey to decide if he's gonna trade Yao this summer.

Wake up, it's not gonna happen.

    1. If Rockets try to trade Yao this summer, the signal is clear: they don't think Yao can play at a high level anymore, just like Tmac What they gonna get in return is peanuts.

Next season it will depends on how Yao plays. If Yao plays well:

    2. If Yao makes it clear that he wants to be trade, Rockets will have to trade him, otherwise Yao'd walk for nothing after next season. In that case since it is demanded by Yao, Rockets will get more in return than case 1.

    3. If Yao doesn't want to be traded during the season, Rcokest still can't really trade him, because like Amare, if Yao doesn't commit to the teams he is traded to, no team would give Rockets a lot assets just to see Yao walk after half season.

Trade Yao or not this summer and next season is basiclly out of question, unless Yao can not produce on the court like Tmac or Yao wants to be traded.

Very dumb thread imo and the question should be rather, WHEN will Yao return to star form.

I am still not sure if he will ever reach it again but I wish him the best. But who knows? Are you sure that he will be healthly for the remainder of his carrer? Because to me it looks like he will comeback and hurt this leg again. His legs are just not build to play bb probably. It is diffucult to be 7'6 and do daily routines and when you talk about proffesional basketball it is like day and night.

Remember what Ilgauskas said? It took him about 2 YEARS to come back to the level where he could play every night. He said in the 1st season he wasn't even able to play 20 minutes.

It is like with McGrady. People expected him to shine since the start of this season and already it is March (more than a year) and has just shown some sign of his old self.

I don't understand why people expect Yao to come back right away next year after missing over ayear and to dominate again and play at 20/10 level again.

Come on. I expect hope he can come back but it will not happen until after the deadline next season. That's my opinion. We are not gonna be contenders either. You have Nuggets, Dallas, Lakers, Jazz... NO WAY.

But if you have the right deal on the table for yaoin the offseason or whenever, MAKE IT HAPPEN ASAP.

There will not be a right deal in the summer. No team is going to give up much before seeing Yao steps on the floor.

That's true. But that is why I said whenever.

Btw, isn't he an expiring contract next season?

^^ yes they are, which puts the rockets in a pretty good position all things considered.

Had this happened towards the middle of his contract it would have been an extremely difficult situations and damn near impossible to deal with.

As far as next season is concerened, I really hope he can come back to a similar level to the one he was at last year in the first round, even if it is with reduced minutes.

I just want him to be able to be effective when he is out there on the floor, whether its 20 min or 30 min.
