Watched The Heart of the Game on PBS a couple of years ago, a documentary about a high school girls' basketball team. Well worth a Netflix.
watched that one first since it was right there embedded. Liked it, great soundtrack. I really liked Tyreke Evans' older brother, really smart guy who didn't want his brother to fall victim to the ghetto environment. He saw the opportunity his brother had and made sure he made the most of it.
"More than a Game," the docmentary about LeBron and his high school teammates and their journey as best friends from their young AAU days until graduation. Very well done. Recommended especially to those that seem to hate LeBron simply because of his ESPN prevalence. Kid has paid his dues...
ahh yes, directed by Oscilloscope Founder and Beastie Boy Adam Yauch. he handpicked the 8 players to showcase from the game that year. I believe Deandre Jordan and even OJ Mayo were playing in the game but he chose the 8 to represent a wide array of talent from across the country. i liked how they went from Kevin Love's Beach Boy/ NBA suburban lifestyle to Evans and Stephenson's hardened realities. and the soundtrack is indeed slammin'- that was a pretty penny securing all the rights to those tracks according to Yauch...
