I want Ming to dominate or at least do very well. Ideally the USA would win despite a great game by Ming.

However, I would much prefer for China to win with a great game from Ming than the USA to win while Ming sucks.

    Call me unpatriotic I guess.

As much as I want Ming to dominate, I want my country to win. I hope he does well, but if he doesn't, oh well. He's on a team that may be worse than the Rockets. Ok, maybe a lot more worse. Still, I'm going for the US.

As Rox Fans we should hope that Yao has a fair game and is not in foul trouble. Don't expect too much and be pleasantly surprised! The USA wins of course!

i'd prefer china win due to a domninant ming performance. that's a longshot but i do think ming will play well, just not enough to carry a far inferior team.

I'd much rather have a player from my Rockets to win than the players from my country. I'm rooting for china all the way.

And no I'm not Chinese. :p

Man, I'm surprised at how many people would rather have China win. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate China or anything, but we are not even rooting for our own country? Even if the US team consisted of Jazz players, I'd probably bring myself to root for them. Then again, maybe the guys posting aren't American. If anybody seen that show :03 to Gold, you'd want the US to win every game by 90 points, which actually almost happends. :D

Thanks, I needed that. Could you imagine if the Jazz made the team in 2010, if Houston gets the Olmpics? (this is the right year,Right?) The whole stadium would be booing the US team. That would be real interesting.

It'll be interesting to see how Ming does offensively against Ben Wallace, him being the defensive player of the year and all.

For me, I'd love to have a plate full of Tex-Mex from Leo's in front of me while I'm watching the game, instead of the crap that passes for Mexican food out here in L.A.

I want the lead-in to the AP story to be this...

"Despite the 50 points, 25 rebounds, and 12 blocks from China's Yao Ming, the US nevertheless dominated the game, and won 148-64."

And then, "... in related knews, Baron Davis went 0-24."

I like would like that too. May add something like "US held Yao to 50 points, since he had been averaging 100ppg on 50 shots per game."

Yours was at least somewhat realistic, I think mine may have been too much.

I have seen this type stuff for awhile around here, and I'm alittle confused..
Isn't a "homer" someone who believes in their home team and roots for them always , no matter what? Since when was this a bad thing?
I always see the term used as an insult and I feel that considering how alot of H-Town residents are bandwaggoners...we could use ALOT more "homers" around town...
Would someone kindly explain to me why being a homer is a bad thing?
