Stockton made it offical today and said he would return. Why? Please leave. You'r old, washed up and suck. Get out of the NBA and out of our lives. If you do leave take Malone with you. Damn I hate thoes guys.
I think this belongs in the NBA DISH, but it does invlove the Rox arch-nemesis, the Jazz. To answer the question, I think he may retire with Malone, which I believe has his contract up soon. Then again, he may retire before. I don't really know.
i hate the jazz. i hate john stockton. but he is far from washed up and sucking, though he is old. starting the season, he's still a top 10 point guard. add to the fact, his position isn't as physical and he should be a strong contributor.
what dup with ur head??? the Jazz played much better game than the rockets last season. Stockton played his role as a pg alot better than Francis. Dude!!what a fool you r.
I hate the Jazz, with all my heart! I think Steve will lead better now thats he healthy Karl Malone and John Stockton have been the NBA's longest life partners, they should be an example to gay couples everywhere
Sofine: You're a loser. No more needs be said. I hate the Jazz as much as anyone. In fact, I don't hate anyone in sports more than the Jazz, except Scottie Pippen. And he really had to ****ing work for it. But Stockton, or assmouth as I like to call him, is a top ten point guard. No reason for him to retire. aznlincolnpark: It's an unfair comparison. It's obvious Steve is the superior player now. YOU try outplaying someone from the bench in your street clothes. Steve was injured. When he wasn't, he made more of an impact than assmouth. Watch them this year, while Steve's healthy, and try and make the same point. Still not at all surprised he's not retiring. Why would he? He makes good money playing a sport he loves and playing well. And as long as he's allowed to play dirty, he'll be successful. And that will likely be a long time.
Stockton was a very productive player last year. In fact, he probably played better than he had the previous 2 years. He might as well play until he's no longer productive. He's aged extraordinarily well, as much as I hate to say it.
the jazz may not even make the playoffs this year. he might as well jump ship for a chance at the title or retire.
At first I hated the idea of Stockton going on for another year.. but after thinking about it.. i liked the idea, because their basically stunting the growth of their side in the future.. okay they might get close to the playoffs or even make them.. but they won't go all the way.. and in the end get some lame draft pick.. and frustrate Utah fans for another season... Also give the rocks rookies the opportunity to kick their senile asses..
Damn, Juan! You know, I usually agree with you, but not always. However, I would have to say that post took some real cajones. Agree or not, I really respect that decidedly minority view.
Floppy Stockton's push offs on picks & floppy Malone' elbows(I've hated Malone ever since he took out that U-of-H player with an elbow shot to the head) make then the 2 most hated players in the league IMO. But what really ticks me off is: they are so good, they don't need to do that s**t!!!!! They don't need to retire. They're both still top 5 at their position. If it weren't for their dirty tactics, I'd be rooting for them to get a ring! As it is, the only thing I'd give them is the anally awarded "Purple Shaft with Barbed Wire Cluster"!
Who cares when he retires??Just let him and his buddy Malone go on in life thinking that they can win a championship. It will never happen.
I truely hate the Jazz, but I sort-of-like Stockton. Malone is cheap as hell and I hate him, but Stockton is a 40 yrs. old white guy with short shorts who can still take over the game (sort of). Other than that, I HATE THE JAZZ!!!!!!!!!11
Don't you see Moe? People just can't help liking Stockton. They try to hate him because he plays for the Jazz and he plays dirty and manipulates the refs. But, he's just too lovable! Seriously, I've never seen a smarter player than Stockton. He has physical gifts that help in his game, but not nearly what other players have got. He's done so much more with less that I can't help but have the utmost respect for him as a player and a person. And, that includes the dirty play and ref-manipulation. Unlike his teammate Malone, I don't think he crosses the line into unsportsmanlike conduct. He uses every tool at his disposal to try to win. I love that. To a degree, the whole Jazz team exhibits the same attitude. I think this stems from Sloan's militaristic approach, Stockton's dedication, and even Malone's work ethic. It is no suprise to me that Utah managed to squeeze more out of Shandon Anderson and Howard Eisley than their new teams have been able to. They run their team as well as anyone ever has. For this team attitude, I like the Utah Jazz. It is sullied only by Karl Malone's unsportsmanlike thuggishness... and, of course, the fact that they knocked the Rockets out of the playoffs in their last legitimate bid for the championship.
It does and it was posted there yesterday. http://bbs.clutchcity.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=39196
