I've owned a PS2 thats been working since 2000 and a PS3 that has been golden since 2007. Put a bunch of millage on both. Almost everyone I know with a 360 has had RROD once or twice. That said am I just lucky, or does Sony just have less issues with its playstations?
No problems at all with mine. I think it just depends a lot with what model you have or whatever. The newer ones are supposed to be a lot more stable.
I thought they keep replacing my mother board....I am sure the Seriel numbers have changed. Anyway.....I don't mind a little wait....just wish it happened last week when I was in Montreal. Wanted to play this weekend.... DD
Nah, they fix it free, it is like a minor inconvienience, and I use the 360 a lot more than the PS3. DD
I feel the same way. I feel bad for buying my PS3 cause I don't think I have turned it on in almost a year. When you get your 360 repaired, its only a few days without it (it has never even taken a week to get mine back.
Way less. There was an estimate that over 50% of launch 360s have failed, some of them multiple times. Of the working units, we can probably assume that a fair portion of them just haven't been used much. It seems like the launch 360s have critical design flaws that all but guarantee a RROD if you game a moderate to heavy amount. PS3 has a failure rate in line with normal electronics although YLOD problems are finally starting to crop up in decent amounts with the launch units. I just got hit with the YLOD with my launch 60GB but I was able to repair it myself by reflowing the solder. That's a hell of a lot more time than I got out of my launch 360, which RROD three days after the 90 day warranty. The one problem with the PS3 is that you're in a lot more trouble if something goes wrong. Sony is much less likely to fix it free out of warranty, and even if they do your gamesaves are gone. You can't just swap the harddrive into a new system intact because the harddrives are encrypted for the specific console they are formatted on. And it's almost impossible to replace a launch system with a new one of the same quality since sealed 60GB PS3 are extremely rare and insanely expensive. The chrome bling signifies my launch prestige and I won't tolerate anything less, and the emotion engine PS3s are the best way to play PS2 games because of upscaling. Plus there are cardslots and extra ports.
Even if they tell you to send the hard drive, don't send it (for 360 at least). With PS3, you're losing your saves no matter what if you send it in so it's better to try home repair. Even if you can only fix it temporarily, you can at least buy a new PS3 and migrate your stuff over (and this is the ONLY way to move copy-protected saves like Demon's Souls).
My girlfriend cheats on me every now and again, but its cool. She never goes all the way and its only a couple of times a year. Slight inconvenience. Edit: Also I don't like other equally or more attractive women. Their lady parts don't work for me like hers does.
Got it back today, good as new, only now, I have been playing so long on my kids Xbox that I miss the weapons I had earned. Now I have to start all over dang it !! BC 2 is rocking !! Oh, and they sent me an entirely new unit......complete replacement...woohooo DD
