Anyone live out there? Thoughts on the area? Safety, schools, likelihood of appreciation in home values? I've been an inner loop guy for a long time, but we just aren't find things we like in the area anymore.
Highly recommended since 290 never gets busy. I guess no one's decided to build up northwest Houston yet.
Have you been out on 290 lately? There's plenty of development, with Fairfield, Towne Lake, Coles Crossing, Stone Gate ... and so forth. Traffic can be hell from 610 onto towards Jones Road. BTW, the schools are good, many recognized in for exemplary academics. Not sure about homes going up in value as many (most) have depreciated over the last couple of years.
OCP up in JV. Not only will they fight you on the basketball court, they will even go ahead and kill their own parents. OHH BURN. (literally) Seriously. The cops there suck for various reasons. I haven't see that school in a long while, but I think they are remodeling it. I think the other neighborhoods along Jones rd are a lot better. Sporting wise, i think they suck now because of Cy-Ridge opening up. I think theyre good at soccer if that means anything.
You don't like the Astros? Or Texans? Or Rockets? The best restaurants are inside the loop. And 290 traffic is horrendous.
I grew up in Jersey Village and went to JVHS. Its not what it used to be in the area (urban sprawl just like everywhere else). Fairbanks N. Houston has gone down hill significantly, but the West Rd area is still ok, I wouldn't recommend Winchester Country. As for the neighborhood of JV, its not going appreciate more than what it already is. Oh and the cops are the worst.
