when you're dating, everything is talking about sex. Where can we do it? Why can't we do it? Are you parents gonna be out so we can do it? Everything is always talkin about getting sex, and then planning the wedding, all the details. But then, when you get married... it's crazy, i dunno. You can get it whenever you want it. You wake up in the morning and she's there. You come home from work and she's there. So all that sex planning talk is over with. And so is the wedding planning talk cause you're already married. So... ya know I can come down here and we can bull**** the entire night away but I cannot hold a 5 minute conversation with Beth. I mean it's not her fault, I'm not blaming her, she's great... Sigh.. is it any wonder why the divorce rate in America is so high these days? The joy and pleasure that comes with being linked for life with a woman that you love and care for is astronomically better than any temporary here-today and gone-tomorrow benefits that comes with having affairs. And the latter will certainly cause you to lose the privilege of experiencing the former.

It's all about denying your selfish temporal pleasures for the much more beautiful big picture.

I can assure you from past experiences that friends with benefits do exist. However, it always screws up in the end because one gets feelings for the other one.

 

It can be... but somebody usually starts developing feelings towards the other.

Bingo... There is NO SUCH THING as sex with "no strings attached". Sex in and of itself is a very deep and emotional connection with the opposite sex. You are in a sense giving a piece of your heart to that person whenever you have sex with them, and people get easily connected afterwards.

Had that happen to me in college. Had a FWB and then met someone. That someone was hanging out at my apartment when the FWB showed up. She was kind of shocked and left crying. Ended up being much ado about nothing in the end, but it clearly hurt her at the time.

 

I don't think there's any debate about it. I mean, we've been going back and forth on the issue for generations and generations......but, alas, the truth has been set before us. So, this is what Siddhartha felt like when he finally attained his enlightened state......very groovy.
