Last night was not a good night as a Rockets fan. But I did score some 5th row seats which made it an awesome night! I only go to one game a year in Chicago and that's when the Rockets come to town. From now on I'm spending the extra cash to get good seats instead of sitting in the nose bleeds for my one game a year. Some observations: - I don't usually get to see players up close; I'm amazed at their size, their heads are so close to the rim that it seems they can reach it with almost no effort. - Luis Scola is quite a specimen, statuesque. I know his reputation is that he's not very athletic but he's got a great PF build. He looks like an Amazon with the long flowing hair. - Aaron Brooks got owned by Derrick Rose. Rose is the real deal - a physical mismatch for Aaron being at least 4 inches taller and much stronger. He hounded Aaron mercilessly all night. And there was no defense for his mid-range pull-up. - The calls were definitely on the Rockets side and the crowd got ticked on several occasions. I have to say we were guilty of some pretty bad flops. - Trevor Ariza, Kyle Lowry and Scola all stood out in a positive way. On the other hand, Kevin Martin and Chase Bud missed too many open looks (Chase seemed to get open pretty easily). - Since we lost, the highlight of the night was the break dancers at half time. Their routines are way more advanced then when break-dancing first came on the scene in the 80's. That's all. Will try to post some pics too.
Just for your edification -- An Amazon by definition is a masculine (warrior type) woman. Hippolyta (or variations) was their queen in Greek mythology. Luis may have long hair, but I certainly wouldn't want to call him a woman to his face. :grin:
Whenever someone gets injured and chase has more minutes, he plays bad. He's better coming off the bench with less pressure.
I was there too man. Like you, I decided to spend some dough since the Rockets only come to town once a year. I paid 150 a pop to see the Rockets' playoff hopes smashed in person! It sucked, but at least me and my girl got to wear our jerseys (she was wearing a women's-cut Brooks and I was wearing my Martin alternate jersey). I hate the Chicago fans. My girl was cheering and having fun (especially when we were up) and this older women in front of us just kept glaring at her... You think it's stop when they went on their run, but it was like she was more concerned with us than the game. My gf was like, "I'm having a good time, not bothering anyone, why is she being such a *****!" Other than that, I got into it with one of the Bulls hype men (I think they're the incredi-bulls or something like that). He was heckling us before the game and I was giving it back to him saying "I have a fan". Good night but I really wanted the W.

I was up in the nosebleeds rocking my Drexler Pinstripe jersey (someone else was there too with the same exact jersey). First time seeing the Rockets play since '06. I was very disappointed with all the flopping going on (on our side). Bulls fans around me were getting PISSED -- all I could do was shrug my shoulders. Rose did abuse the hell out of Brooks. He (Brooks) looks like Steve Francis Redux. His shot selection was awful, passing virtually non-existent, several times down the floor it looked as the he was determined to get to the basket, open teammates/5 on 1 be damned. I'm not saying he needs be dealt or anything, but after 4 qtrs, I can see where we are really going to miss Tracy's passing. All in all, this is a different game if Yao is playing. We have to work way too hard for points now, with no inside presence.

I was there rockin' my red 34 Olajuwon shirt Kevin Martin is much more impressive in real life. You really get a sense of his balance and body control in the air. On the other hand, it makes you realize exactly how small AB really is
