The team has been playing without some of its best defenders since the trade, because of injuries. Because of that, the results were HUGELY different than they would have been if Lowry, Ariza and Battier had played all these games. The injuries made an ENORMOUS difference in the team's performance. This is elementary. I think Martin is fitting in very well with this team, Hill has played well and looks like a fantastic addition, and, of course, the value of the picks will be revealed when either the team uses them or includes them in a trade. I shouldn't have to point this out to you, but the picks don't affect the Rockets' winning percentage now. Yet believe it or not, they, like the other components of the trade, have value. This "analysis" is a joke.
You really are not paying a bit of attention to the fact that the Rockets have had their two, and at one time 3, best defensive stoppers in the game injured and missing multiple games right after the trade. Here is a suggestion. Barring any more injuries, pay attention to the games where the roster is healthy, minus Yao, and look at the winning percentage. Then make a claim on whether or not this trade worked out. How about starting with last game and moving forward.
**BUMP** I think (as many people were saying) once we cleared the injury waters, then the story would be quite different.
The Rockets have now won 53% of their games both before and after the trade. In particular, they have won 5 of their last 6 games (83%). Does that mean they have become a better team in a statistically provable way of late?
I think the biggest factor has been having kyle lowry in the lineup. The winning % difference is crazy.
It's been a while since a 5 of 6 streak for these Rockets. Good to see them bounce back with a hard fought win after a tough loss.
So if martin shoots 40% or more the Op must give up his nickname, right? And here we thought we had nothing to look forward to at the end of the year
Doing a detailed statistical analysis of why the Rockets really came out the winners when we signed Scottie Pippen.
Rockets team FG% is .467 since KevMart first suited up for the Rockets. Overall for the season the Rockets are .446 (26th out of 30). Th League average is .460
I laughed  Is it just me or do the people that with a straight face try to explain how this was a trade for the future don't truly understand just how ridiculous the OP is? As Willis said, this is second grade math. Funny thread.
