They've let it be known that BOTH Jacob and Smokey were in that cabin at some point or another. When Ilana found it with the broken ash and the scrap of cloth with the Taweret, she declared that Jacob was no longer there and that someone else had been using it and had it burned down. Going off of that, it would seem that custody went from Horace* --> Jacob --> Smokey It stands to reason that we've only seen it post-Jacob, with Smokey using it to speak on be-Half of Jacob, but really to manipulate Locke. Decent question is whether the ash was to keep Smokey in, or keep him out. * it could be that Horace wasn't building it as a getaway for himself...but he was knowingly building it for Jacob. The producers let it be known that was a one-time actor brought in. I wouldn't put much into it. In the S5 finale, they showed Smokey on the beach in his testy conversation with Jacob. Of course, that could have been another temporary/borrowed form like Christian and Locke. I do think Smokey wants to kill off the remaining Candidates (or negate their candidacy by infecting them) to get off the hook. I suspect that the series will see two different characters sacrifice their mortal lives - one to replace Jacob, one to replace Smokey (after someone kills him off too). I like the idea that it would be Jin and Sun doing so. But there's a million possible combinations.
That's quite a marathon, 121 episodes, about 84 hours of really good and sometimes really dull television. I'd be tempted to just marathon the recap episodes or just handpick the seasons.
Flocke's got the bad touch. He's able to undo Jacob's touch. Sayid, Sawyer were both personally touched, hand to hand, by Flocke (Sayid when he gets the knife back and Sawyer when the rope ladder breaks). Claire takes Kate's hand because she thinks she can undo Jacob's touch too because, well, Claire's a baddie. And when Kate is sitting down, FLocke offered to help her up, and Kate just kind of looks at his hand and then gets up on her own. That's why Flocke hasn't killed her yet. Jack knows this now, and will have an epic showdown with Flocke where he will have to have faith that Jacob's touch will let him stand up to the Flocke in full on Smoke Monster Mode. I don't think Flocke's touch makes one evil, it just takes away Jacob's touch. Just a theory. I think it has been consistent. When real Locke falls down to the Donkey Wheel fake Christian Sheperd helps him to get up, and thus real Locke is able to die off the island. Did Ben ever take Flocke's hand? What about when Flocke was his mother? I can't remember.
QUESTION FOR ME NOW IS: The Stare down between FLOCKE and Mr. Ecko I am wondering what that was all about now Mr. Ecko kind of made Smokie backdown for a moment there Rocket River
I'm curious as to when of if they're going to show the other passengers like Libby, Ecko and Ana Lucia. I can maybe see in a flash sideways, but on the island would be more interesting.
What do you mean by "on the island"? because in the real timeline they are all dead. On another note, I want to see where Juliet is. I have a suspicion that Juliet Spoiler is married to jack in the alt. timeline
Yeah I guess so. Then again, a few of the dead have shown up to Hurley already. Spoiler I have heard rumblings that Libby may return so we'll see. Also I agree on your theory for Juliette. I've thought that too since that episode.
Spoiler the rumblings have been confirmed. charlotte was the first of previously killed characters to return, including Libby, Ana Lucia, and Michael. one can only assume they would return in the alt. timeline, otherwise it would be as a dead person in a vision.
I like your post, but I am absolutely certain this did not take place. Locke asked for a hand to get up, and "Christian" declined, saying Locke had to do it on his own.
So I've been watching non-stop. I'm 17 episodes into season 1 but i swear if that thing in the jungle(u know the monster or whatever) turns out to be a t-rex or something im gonna stop watching this show... I'm hooked on this show by the way. its like crack
Yeah I just re-watched, I wonder if there was any other time that Locke touched Smokey? Maybe Locke is still touched, and will come back from the dead for realsies.
What if Juliette is the con-artist Sawyer is looking for? That would be an interesting twist. Doesn't seem too plausible though.
