Marcus Camby period... great defense... can take significant minutes even against starters... decently mobile/athletic for a big man... parfect fit next to Yao... he would also help us against any team with larger pf/c combos (i.e. Lakers)...

    Camby.

... if he comes cheap, which I think he just might be willing to do.

imagine a playoff lineup of lowry, battier, ariza, camby and yao, we would be great defensively, but bad offensively

Camby is a lazy old player who only makes an effort when forced into it!
We need a player who will fit into our chemistry and age group.Just the wrong personality to pair with Yao Ming!! :p

    Jordan Hill

I think we get someone in the draft.

After Lowry and Scola won't we already over the LT? Would Les be willing to spend the MLE and who would take it?

Other. I'd like to see us trade up and draft Cole Aldrich. Here's why (source: DraftExpress.com, emphasis mine)

    http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Cole-Aldrich-1250/

I want him because interior defense is our only major issue right now. We can score like crazy even without Yao, and our offense is only going to get better when the big guy returns. What we need is a really big, excellent paint defender, shotblocking presence, and defensive rebounder for when Yao is not on the floor. He could jump into the NBA right now and make a big defensive impact, and that's what we need.

Adding Aldrich allows us to decline Chuck's option and still feel like we're getting a huge upgrade to the team, while also saving money.

He won't ever be a star offensively, but he could make that big of an impact on our defensive end and still be a solid offensive roleplayer.

rockets are looking to contend now in the present and are not willing to wait for a draft pick to blossom, expect a trade or free agent signing of a bigman this offseason, we want to win it all now!!!

That's why I suggest drafting Aldrich, because he is NBA-ready and would make a huge impact immediately. Very high floor.

The only weakness I see in our team is lack of shotblocking/interior defense. Thats an improvement that should be taken care of this offseason first and foremost.
