What could he have said that Andre hasn't said already?

Sampras: Well you're nothing but a crackhead.
Agassi: Ummm, ok, tell me something I don't know.

It's not like making fun of Clemens for using PEDs when the whole world believes the guy is lying.

...I dunno, I think Sampras made a low blow by imitating his walk, but Agassi took it to the next level. Both shots seemed to be all in good fun though. Agassi probably didn't need to keep going after him with the cheapskate comments, but Sampras was practically begging him for a comeback. In fact, Agassi looked like he was gonna let it go until Sampras started calling him out. About the only other thing Agassi could have done was make fun of Sampras for never winning on clay, and I'm betting that Sampras wouldn't have taken that type of comment well either.

Do you think Andre would care? Andre was the one that let it out of the bag.

Agassi probably wouldn't care because he's an attention w****. All pete would accomplish by continuing this pissing match is help Agassi sell some more books. Pete wisely kept his cool (for the most part) rather than let things escalate.

    I didn't think that tense.

    Awkward but not tense.

I dont think Sampras would have been witty enough to come up with a drug joke. Seemed like he was thinking a long time for a comeback and he didnt really have anything.

    Agassi apologizes...

    http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/tennis/news/story?id=4999657

Andre Agassi told ESPN The Magazine's Rick Reilly he was "out of line" and apologized for poking fun at Pete Sampras during a charity match last week.

Longtime rivals Agassi and Sampras were wearing microphone headsets during the match, and the crowd at Indian Wells Tennis Garden in California got an earful during an exchange that started lighthearted but turned testy.

At one point Sampras mimicked Agassi's pigeon-toed walk, which drew laughs from the crowd.

Then Agassi chided Sampras for being stingy. In Agassi's autobiography, "Open," released last fall, Agassi criticized Sampras for being a poor tipper.

Sampras responded with a high, hard serve that forced Agassi, who was teamed with Rafael Nadal, to duck.

Both Agassi and Sampras were smiling, but neither showed up at the post-match news conference.

Agassi told Reilly that he feels "sick about it."

"It was out of line," Agassi said Monday. "It was inappropriate. The night was on fire. We were all having fun. I was trying to be comedic. I only had a split second to make a decision. I went for it and it fell flat. I was trying to get past it, but Pete didn't really let me get past it. He didn't really roll with it. I've texted Pete to ask him if I can apologize in person."

"The joke fell flat and I'm sorry," he added. "My hope was that the night was still enjoyable."

Nadal was asked about Sampras and Agassi after his Monday night match.

"Everybody told me after the match what's happened, but during the match, you know how fast Americans speak, and I am Spanish. I didn't understand nothing," he said.

He said he felt no tension between them either on or off the court.

A capacity crowd of 16,100 filled the stadium for the Hit for Haiti fund-raising exhibition Friday night put together by Oracle founder Larry Ellison, who purchased the tournament at Indian Wells in December.

The event helped raise $1 million to aid relief efforts in the earthquake-ravaged island nation.

Sampras started it first... In front of thousands of people like that, I would fire back as well...

HAHA. Why did they even include this comment save the comedic value?

to qualify the line after it where Nadal said he felt no tension on the court or afterwards. i.e. from someone on the court, it seemed like things weren't as bad as people think.. but then again, he didn't understand the words at the time so maybe he didn't get everything that was going on

you could argue that Agassi started it by telling Pete to loosen up or whatever?
