Could not have said it any better.

Seems like the guy bases all his opinions on Sports Center highlights and tries to pass them off as facts.

well this is the nba, where the cavs get the best out of everything and get the respect other teams should happens.

tim legler is only paying attention to the teams that are very good. i mean think about it. did varejao get a 20 - 20 the last week?no. did he get a double double for consequitive games?no. did he get 44 points? no. did scola do all those?yes. i will pollute the GARM if scola doesnt get player of the week for last week and varejao does

its a close call bcuz theyre very similar and they have similar roles for their team

they do the same thing on D and their hustle heart heart flopping etc (altho verajao is better at floppin) but Scola is 10X the better Ofeensive player

if Scola played for the Cavs he woulda have won

Legler isn't going to pay attention to Scola while Varejao is on National TV EVERY week so not suprising. If the Rox were on ESPN/ABC/TNT like the last few years his choice might be different.

I tend to usually agree with most of Legler's statements, but this time he's wrong. I can't blame him though, I'm sure he hasnt watched any rockets game because our lack of national exposure.

One thing I will say about Legler, he is easily the best nba analyst espn has right now. I respect his opinion and has good knowledge of the game, unlike guys like bruce bowen, jalen rose, jon barry, or avery johnson. Those guys suck and they make me not want to watch the games sometimes.

My thoughts exactly. A total tool. He never gives the Rockets any props.

Actually, Legler is the only guy on espn that gives the rockets any props. That's why I watch him when hes on Fastbreak. He always says good things about the rockets and gives a fair and thoughtful opinion on them.

Let me clarify - he didn't give much credit to the Rockets in the beginning of the season. He's only saying better stuff now after what's happening. I still don't like him or the other ESPN analysts.

varejao - scrub that can never go off for a 44 point night or average 20 points a week.

scola - world MVP for argentina before.

    Varejao is far from soft...

He is a top 5 post defender in the NBA. Scola is better, but Varejao is an excellent player...

I'm guessing when he says "hard hat" he means the guys that bust their ass night in and night out and do the little things for the team?

Honestly, I don't see anything wrong with picking Varejao over Scola in that category. They both play extremely hard all the time. They are both willing to take the charge when needed. They both do the little things to help their teams win. Both of them deserve a tremendous amount of credit, and both of them are getting it here.

If it were a rankings on better player, then I think Scola would win, but they are different "types" of players. Scola is easily the better offensive player, Varejao is easily the better defensive player. They both rebound pretty damn well.

In the immortal words of past NBA greats . . . "Tim Legler...who?"

He's obviously a fan of Sideshow Bob, or . . . Justin Guarini.

actually Varejao has gotten double doubles very consistently lately, he did get them on consecutive games, he hasn't had a 40 point game but he's had a 30 point game(not this season), but his game doesn't rely on scoring.

He is also 2nd in +/- in the NBA, Lebron is first and Howard and Kobe are 3rd and 4th.

    http://www.nba.com/statistics/plusminus/plusminus_sort.jsp?pcomb=1&season=22009&split=9&team=

he's much better than you guys think, and he's integral to the Cavs success.
