Much love for Luis. This is the MVP of the World Championships showing his stuff. Even if we don't get Bosh, I don't think it is much of a "loss". Luis is capable enough of handling the PF position for us.
Magic has superman, Nuggets have birdman, Jazz had the mailman... WE GOT THE ICE CREAM MAN Luis Scola, in his 3rd year in the NBA, IS an elite power forward. Knee-jerk? Luis was averaging nearly 22 and 16 in the 4 games BEFORE tonight's 44 and 12. Morey gave up a young, explosive, 3rd year talent and sixth man of the year candidate who HE DRAFTED in landry because he knew scola was ready for primetime minutes. Double-post offense next year with yao back, along with high percentage shooters and cutters? I cant wait for next year boys.
No one's been talking "third scorer" and "how do you stop Boozer" for 2 years now. Coincidence? Awesome game by Scola. 20-25 and he missed the easiest wide open shot he's had in his career too. Dont get too attached to seeing any of these players beyond next season though. I seriously dont think you can pencil in anyone besides Yao of all players. And Yao you cant assume for injury reasons
man if luis keeps this up, it's going to be damn hard for morey to let him go. his production has been all-nba like the past 7-8 games or so, my goodness.
