On NBA Fastbreak, Tim Legler did a ranking of his 8 top Hard Hat players. Surprisingly Landry was also on the list, but he only made it to the 2nd round. Scola made it to the finals against Varejao, but he lost. It Varajao winning just a product of playing with Lebron? Your thoughts?

Starting this thread gives credence to the thought that Tim Legler (or anyone who shouts on ESPN) is an expert.

Tim Legler is not an expert.

Yep, hes just in the spot light more often than Scola. Hopefully next year we will actually have nationally televised games and then Scola will get the recognition he deserves

Oh man, I know Scola flops but Varejao is the king of flopping. I cant stand his game and his sideshow bob hair cut.

Of course he would, hard to rate a guy you've barely seen play.

I don't think any of these guys use their league pass to watch teams around the NBA.

Just think how good San Antonio would be with this years Scola! Duncan at center and Scola at PF.

Come on, Varejao only thrives on putbacks and occasional jump shots.

Scola have more moves and a more polished jump shots than him

No comparison, Varejao is a douchebad without Lebron, book it....

Matter of personal taste, Varejao makes Legler's hat harder than Scola does. Nothing wrong with that.

Tim Legler is just one of the evil minions of the Superstar driven company known as ESPN.

None of them know anything about the Rockets, lol.

The only ESPN guy I like is JVG, and Im suprised he is still alive after even thinking of mentioning the Rockets!

Realize that your post shows Varejao as more of a "hardhat" player who doesn't rely as much on finesse.

If Varajao played for the Clippers, would he even be in this bracket? He has no skill. He plays hard, but has no skill. Scola plays hard and has serious skills.

    Legler is clueless, like usual.

It's not like this is a "Who is a better player, Anderson Varejao or Luis Scola?" debate. In all honesty, if the definition of a "hard hat" player is one who makes his living based on hustle and doing dirty work alone, it's probably gonna be Varejao. Yes, Luis Scola is exceptional at making the same kind of little plays, but he's more well-known for his interior polish and finesse. If anything, I'd say it's more a compliment than anything that he'd pick Varejao over Scola.
