Can Ming compare to the dream. Or will he crumple under the pressure. Could he be better than Olajuwon?

Ming may have a good or great career, but he will never be the dream.

He will never be another Akeem but there is a good chance that he could become the first great Yao Ming, quite a different entity all together.

Children should not be allowed to play unsupervised. I'll be happy when school is back in session.

    Ming better than Hakeem?

Think about it for a second.

Olajuwon in his prime is of of the best players of all time. Not at his position, not in his class, not in his career. One of the best players EVER.

Everyone needs to calm down, Olauwon is one of the greatest centers of all time, and Ming hasn't even played one NBA game. This post can come up when we actually see Ming play.

It took Hakeem 6 years to understand that it was good to pass out of the triple team. He was a great athlete who would have, I'm willing to bet, excelled at pro football or soccer, or whatever if he'd gone that way. He was not, however ever what you'd call a truly smart basketball player. He was at his best in that ultra-simple post offense of the championship years. If you ever put him in a motion offense, of gave him too many different situations to deal with, he wouldn't have been able to adjust rapidly.

Ming is more of a natural, and will 'fit' better.

In the end, though, to expect Ming to be Hakeem's equal is ridiculous.

WHAT?!! One of the most ridiculous statements of all time!!
The most ever I will go for is to say that Ming might be a poor man's Abdul-Jabbar or a little bit better than Ralph Sampspn in his prime.

    Gimme a break people.

I for one hope Ming becomes the greatest center of all time.

I cherish the memory of Olajuwon as much as the next guy, but those days are gone. I was a Rocket fan before Olajuwon and remained one after he left.

Here's hoping Ming surpasses Olajuwon's accomplishments.

The name is Yao. Be here now.
