WELCOME BACK POPEYE!! I thought you would change the name to Bluto. But Big Dog is good enough, nice to have you back. ------------------ President of the Moochie Norris FAN CLUB
I don't recall popeye ever liking Glenn Robinson....oh wait, I get it, its a sign-We're gonna obtain Glenn Robinson! Or would it be Antoine Carr? ------------------ Rockets fans wanted at hoopsboards.com Draft Chat, NBA Chat, Team Chat, and more!
"There are few a few teams that need his services and Houston is one of them." No they don't. A scorer they need, but if it is going to be a PF, they also need this man to rebound the ball, which Taylor simply does not do. Maybe he doesn't care because he is on the Clippers, but if he wants a big contract, he better look like he deserves it and he doesn't. "If Brian Grant has an excellent post game, then he must have just gotten it in the last couple of weeks. Hmm...maybe he bought it off of eBay." Thank you aelliott!! I thought I was the only one NOT behind this guy. He is highly overrated and overpaid. Grant is no better than Cato and is paid WAY more. Let him opt out and go to some other sucker! Anyhow, I would do the trade only if Taylor's contract was low to moderate and short term. It just isn't gonna happen like that though. ------------------ We need some meat in the post! A quick question for the Stats police, how many players in the league averaged more than 6.5 rebounds a game last season???? I like the way he has jumped up his rebounding numbers each year. If Cabs trade went thru which centre would we draft- Mihm (marshmallow man), Pryzibilla, or how do we best use the #3 pick, maybe it would be better if they kept the #3 and threw Kandi man in on the trade. ------------------ CUT Tino Isn't it amazing how quickly everyone did a Cat Backflip!!!!!
Here ya go. www.nba.com/score_stat/leaders/RPG.html And for you projected-over-48-minutes freaks, there's a link there too. Btw, check out Jerome Williams on both lists. ------------------ [This message has been edited by grummett (edited June 15, 2000).]
thacabbage, I thought M Taylor was pretty emphatic this past winter that he would not do a sign-n-trade for the Clippers benefit. Mango ------------------ Live long and prosper. Donate blood! Now...back to updating The Serious Police Files.
ya no problem big dog.....i have no problem with what you said just didn't like it when you told rocketfan95 to get sources. popeye is bigdog?? joking right ------------------ Shane "Save Our Rockets" "Life without basketball in Houston........without an arena that is what it will be"
Brian Grant of the Portland TrailBlazers is gonna opt out of his contract with them. This may be good news for the Rockets. My sources tell me that Grant is one of the potential free agent PF's the Rockets covet. He's only 28 yrs old and at 6'9 260 just what the doctor ordered down low. Has an excellent post game, a dominator on the boards and a terrific low post defender. Ther only question is whether the Rockets can free up some cap space to nab him. Food for thought. ------------------
Wow. Please make sure that there isn't another thread stating the same exact thing next time. Thanks. ------------------ Get your proper swirve on...visit www.swirve.com (coming in mid-June, for now visit www.eesite.com)
Mango: You're right, I completely forgot about that. No matter what Faulk is demanding, at this point, there is no way any team will be stupid enough to give Maurice Taylor the maximum. However, with everyone clearing cap space for the McGrady-Duncan-Hill-Rose sweepstakes, there is just no room for a Maurice Taylor. Hell, I don't even think he will command as much as the second tier of Mobley-Brian Grant. I think Mo Taylor's best bet at this point would be to swallow his words, and agree to be signed-and-traded to a team that doesn't have that cap room, but would like his talents. With the trade exception, Houston can make that happen. However, in the scenario I posed, the real meat of the deal would be the #3 pick, with the Clippers just getting something in return for Taylor. ------------------ "My sources tell me Rudy Tomjanovich is head coach of the Houston Rockets."
Are we all friends now Good just wondering how many times the word source has been mentioned, anyone in here going to admit they don't have any? ------------------
My sauce is Ragu. There I told you my sauce, just don't bother him. I thought Falk was losing his power grip in the NBA, last I heard teams were not intimidated by him anymore. Anyways thats what I heard from my sauce. ------------------ "We need to fockass".....Dream back in the day [This message has been edited by Scarface (edited June 16, 2000).]
Rocket Fan, Who is rocketfan95? I thought you guys were talking about rf34, but you're talking about RocketMan95. That being said, pillage them for Kandi... not Mo Taylor. Isn't there something about a player overperforming on a horrible team? What happens when a player underperforms for the same team. You pay him the max? Cha. I'd rather have BigArseCountry taking up future money than Mo Taylor. He's a pile of crap, but at least he's a big pile of crap. ------------------
achebe..i'm sorry i knew rocketfan95 didn't sound right should have went up and checked it rocketman95 is what i meant ------------------ Shane "Save Our Rockets" "Life without basketball in Houston........without an arena that is what it will be"
