haha, I agree with you entirely on that expect for the last part. It's not like he barely missed the potential he had. With the level of talent and physical gifts this guy had even by 20 years old combined with his insanely high bball IQ that I feel to this day might still be the highest in the nba for someone not named lebron james. He should be in the discussion for the best all time, Doc Rivers even admitted to it (despite he was coaching him at the time, it's still a compliment) His gifts should've gotten him multiple mvps, nba 1st team honors, with hard work maybe even some DPOY honors.....and finally he should've found himself beyond the first round maybe possibly in the finals several times.
you guys are full of it. and act like you know everything. he probably didnt live up to his potential but you guys act like you know how he feels. how his back has affected him working out/practicing/playing in actual games year after year. everyone is built the same no one is different. dumb ass people. you sit here and read all this crap on here about other people's opinions and you start forming your own like its the ten commandments coming down from the skies facts, i mean opinions. so usually tmacs knee problem is dealt with working out and strengthen the knee instead of getting surgery. get an extra hobby dada too many posts on here are really Really clouding your head. its sad
Maybe he'll understand one thing now. He tought it would be easy. You just feel great during workouts, you are dunking, shooting etc and you think it is gonna be the same in the real game. But once you start playing you kinda hit the wall. All players after that surgery have gone through that. As they said, it is gonna be very long, very tough and frustrating. He just has to play hard. He knows he is not gonna out there and score 30 and dunk on people. He knows it now. The only thing he an control is how hard he plays. Earlier, he wasn't playing hard AT ALL. His defense was way below average and he was just frustrated, standing in the offense. You gotta at least try. And it looks like he did it against Dallas. And if he does that consistently he is gonna be fine. And I belive finishing this season would be great for his knee.
No one but trolling haters deny that he wasn't hurting. No one is also questioning his talent either. What pisses Rockets fans or even basketball fans about T-Mac is that he does not try unless he feels it is beneficial to him. He does not hustle, he does not try to fit into the offense, hell half the time he doesn't even attempt to play D. Here is why we dislike T-Mac so much: - For all his talk, he has an incredibly low pain tolerance and is chronically injury prone. He never needed surgery and while surgery was an option, it was the last option. Most players with his condition play through the game, because that is what is expected of them for their jobs. This is HIS job, to go out their and play basketball, compete hard, and win. - When the going gets tough, T-Mac quits. Please go back to watch the Toronto game where he just stood there and didn't even attempt to stay in front of his man. - If T-Mac is not the I of the team, you will find him parked at the perimeter. He doesn't cut and barely even attacks the basket anymore. - It is documented that players note if you play him hard enough, he will give up trying to take it to you. This is what differentiates him from Kobe, Wade, and LBJ in that he is deathly scared of continuous contact. - It is not a coincidence that this guy has burned the bridge with EVERY SINGLE TEAM he has played against. - Last year was the worst. When T-Mac caught wind that he may be traded to a crappy team, what did he do? He publicly announced that he was having a season ending surgery before the trading deadline without letting the FO and coaching staff know. Who cares if he had let the training staff know, he needs to let the people who matter know and certainly not publicly announce it before the FO does. - Until this season, the Rox had pampered T-Mac every year, catering to his every wishes. However, like EVERY TEAM BEFORE THE ROCKETS, T-Mac wore out his welcome with the expected antics of a now broken down diva.
Sometimes i wonder when guys bash mcgrady is it because they really didn't want him to get traded or what. The man is coming off micro fracture surgery. Hasn't played that much this season really. Do you expect a guy to turn it on right away. He has had decent spirts with the knicks. THE KNICKS for crying out loud. The team isn't that well to begin with so what can you expect him to do. He is not in the stage to carry a team.
We didn't expect him to turn it on it right away. He expected himself to, however. If he hadn't talked all that BS then no one would be on his case.
http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/65355/20100314/mcgrady_i_know_im_not_healthy/ Tracy McGrady has come to the realization that his knee probably won't be fully healed this season. "I know I'm not healthy," McGrady said. "I'm not healthy to go out there and be as effective as I wanted to be every night. It's not happening and I have to have patience with it. I'm not going to allow myself to get discouraged and not believe it's going to get better when I truly believe it is." McGrady believes that if he can help the Knicks win some games over the season's final month, he'll get a contract somewhere next year. "As long as I make it through the rest of this season. Running, rebounding making plays I don't think I have to go out there and really show I'm my old self," McGrady said. "I think just being healthy is what everybody's concerned bout. If I'm healthy, my game's going to be there." Read more: http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/65355/20100314/mcgrady_i_know_im_not_healthy/#ixzz0iCRfkDhe
Everyone talks b.s in the nba. thats just their swagger. Guys talk and let their game do the talking. The guy has had a bad season twice. wow. Looking at his resume in the nba i would say you wouldn't find any arguments. So he is having a bad moment and guys just bash away..
Nobody, I repeat, NOBODY but T-Mac fans expected him to come in and light it up right away if at all. All the real Rockets fans were rolling their eyes when T-Mac said he was completely ready to go. It's not like we haven't heard that one before... TOF's were the ones going "T-Mac is ready so lets play him now!" or "Houston is doing Tracy dirty letting him rot on the bench!" Now that T-Mac is giving the same old Dr. Jekyll Mr. Hyde impersonation, TOF's are going "Do you really expect him to play immediately after micro-fracture surgery?" Not our fault that you T-Mac nut huggers are in a state of eternal denial when it comes to your idol. You keep watching him on that pathetic team and I will enjoy my Rockets trying to get into the playoff and Martin stringing together 20+ games!
The only thing on his resume worth mentioning is the fact that he never got to the 2nd round in the playoffs. The only time his team has gotten past the first round was when he was in street clothes. A stat line of 25/5/5, all-star appearances, and two time scoring champion means absolute garbage when you got a first round bust monkey hanging on your shoulder. While there are many greats who have never won a ring, when was the last time a player of T-Mac's quality not getting past the first round? T-Mac's talent alone will keep him in the NBA as a 6th man scoring role for a while, but he pissed away all his opportunities of true greatness.
It looks to me like it worked out for both of us. Maybe the Rockets were going to trade him anyway. We had to give up Landry, but does anyone really think we'd have been better off not trading McGrady, considering his health situation?
I would have traded him anyways just so we don't have to deal with his crap. Same with his posse though they appear to be slow in leaving.
Hahaha, tmac fans just don't give up do they. "Oh he's said he's ready, he's comin back and is gonna be an allstar, the Rockets are meanies " a month later "leave him alone, he's not ready, but next season he's gonna be an allstar, you guys are meanies :'("
It's been nearly a month since McGrady returned to the court, and his health, quality of play, and availability has been all over the map. It's still a mystery as to where he is at, almost as much as it was earlier in the season. I'm still rooting for McGrady to get it all together, but at this point, I can't see any team risking their chemistry to give him meaningful minutes next season. He's just not showing a lot of consistency and the Knicks allowing him to play basically whenever he wants to is not helping his cause IMO.
