I was pretty disgusted the only time I went there, the burger was so messy and it completely fell apart everytime I took a bite. They probably just made it wrong but the taste was nothing special IMO.
Overrated burgers. One opened here in baytown and wasnt impressed. Whataburger,Fuddruckers, Mcdonalds angus> five guys
Knowing how most beef is processed in the US nowadays, I would be reluctant to eat burgers from restaurants.
The Burgers are meh. The fries I hear are one of the worst health wise http://health.yahoo.com/experts/eat...french-fries-and-what-you-should-eat-instead/ Princes Burgers by my house go hard. Best Root Beer too.
I need to try Five Guys as well as Smash Burger, though I've heard both are pretty greasy and messy...that's not necessarily a bad thing though. I do like Beck and Fuddruckers, and I really loved Willie's Icehouse; tried it for the first time a few weeks ago. The burger was thick and juicy.
I have been to 5 Guys three times. One of my favorite burgers in town. Smashburger and Lankford's are on the list as well. I look forward to trying Christian's and Hubcap Grill soon. BTW...unhealthy or not, the cajun fries at 5 Guys kick ass.
Every single time I have gone to Pappas Burger I have grossly overpaid for my burger and each time I have wound up terribly sick to my stomach about an hour later.
I remember when I lived in California, I saw a guy at the gym in a Rockets jersey and I thought it was you. It was a tall, skinny Asian guy though, and I later learned you look nothing like that.
Smash Burger has a fairly clean burger. Five Guys is a pile of grease which they are kind enough to wrap up in aluminum to make sure it doesn't go anywhere. I prefer Smashburger by far, though I do get occasionally get drawn in to 5 Guys for an order of Cajun fries.
San Antonio got some pretty good burgers. Luthers has by far one of the greatest burgers ever. The Inferno Jalapenos, Inferno Sauce, Pickles, and Lettuce. Amazing. And the regular fries are pretty good too (they have sweet potato fries too) Chesters off of i10 has an amazing double cheeseburger as well. They have some damn good malts and shakes too. Ofcourse, Carl's Jr. for fast food is pretty good. In Houston, there is a spot off of Westheimer called Mamma's that serves a pretty solid burger. Luthers > Chesters > 5 Guys > Mammas > Smash Burger > Whataburger Smash burgers quantity is pathetic. Their burgers are the smallest and most unfilling things ever. Even the fries aren't all that great.
Every single food item mentioned in this thread is unhealthy. Health should not be discussed when talking about good tasty food
I've been to the one on Montrose and had the beef, chicken, and black bean. The chicken was the best of the 3, and the beef was dry and bland, despite the onions on top. Someone told me the fries were amazing, but I found that to be untrue.
They're using the calories for a large order of fries on that site. A large order of fries at 5 Guys is enough to feed 5 guys.
I do want to try Five Guys and Smash Burger, but as of yet nothing comes close to Christian's and Lankford in my opinion.
