Anyone else think the Mavericks peaked a little too early?

    Yeah they are having a nice run (13 straight). But I think this is definitely a bad omen. They have really struggled in the few games, albeit pulling them out. Am I a bit premature with these thoughts, or is it a bit warranted?

    It's looking like the streak ends tonight, and it'll be a little tough for them to get that swagger back after such a long win streak. It remains to be seen, certainly, but I think this is something that could hamper them down the road.

    I think the Mavs have beaten some weak teams recently and the length of their streak doesn't indicate how they've played the last few games. I think Jet Terry's absence is hurting them.

    I'm not willing to say they peaked too early. I can see the Mavs being very tough to beat in the playoffs, even for the Lakers. Rick Carlisle will have this team playing well when it counts.

    Good point about Jet. I didn't think of that. Their run just made me think of the Jazz run from last year...

    No you peak when you can. How is losing one game after a big win streak any different from losing every other game?

    Rockets in 94 won their first 15 games to start the season. In 95 they won their first 9 games. Thats as early peaking as you can get. We know the outcome to the end of those seasons

    So you're concerned the Mavericks have been playing too well? You really think that's a bad omen?
