Every since the off season began we've had these fair weather fans who have turned their back on one of the most explosive talented point guards in the nba today, because he was'nt overly thilled with the decisions that managment has made. Hell how many times have as fan's our selves questioned decisions that Rudy T and C.D have made in the past. Me myself I don't blame Steve for wanting to make sure that 6years from now when his contract would be up that he and the team made to at least one championship game. All of these half truths and lies need to stop because what your really doing is causing Steve fans to hate Yao Ming fans or viseverse, when you post on a thread that Steve has a bad attitude you are lyer and there's no truth in you. Every since Steve has been here he has been media friendly, he signs autographs and dose alot of charity work in the comunity. Until Yao play's one game in the Nba stop saying crazy stuff like if Francise stops being a ball hogg Ming could average 20 and 10. Anyone that has any real basketball knowledge would know that a first year player that has'nt played againts quality NBA competition and who in foul trouble againts infeiror competition is going to have problems adjusting his first year. Last but not least leave Francis and Ming alone I'm sure Steve dose'nt hate Ming and Ming dose'nt hate Steve so leave all of that

I'm all for everyone being unified. I myself love Francis and I'm really excited about Ming playing for the Rockets. Any talk about their being huge problems is either pre-mature, speculation, or over reaction or all three.

So far a lot of the Steve bashers have been proven wrong time and time again.(Steve won't go to the Mayo clinic, Steve will leave if the Rockets draft Ming, etc.)

Hopefully Ming will prove the people wrong who think he'll be a bust. Right now it's too early to tell.

It's also too early to tell how Steve and Ming will play together. There were far more public negative comments by Rockets Players when the Drexler trade happened. We got a championship the year that happened. Whatever the players thought about the team, they soon learned to work together and enjoy working together as they moved toward the Sweep of Orlando.

Conversely it could all end up badly this time around. Ming could be a bust, Steve could be too upset to be happy on the team etc. Who knows?

It's all guessing at this point.

I don't mind people posting their opinions at all, but I feel bad for Steve when he hasn't said anything negative about Ming, and people decide to believe rumors and judge Steve pre-maturely.

Well put mac.c. There is a difference between criticism him and hoping he improves and just dissing him and saying its over for him. Its almost as if alot of people want him to fail. Everybody who's hating better at least hope he does well b/c he's gonna be here for a while.

Unfortunately not to many people will respond to this thread. People would rather blast Steve on these "Francis sucks" threads than post or reply on something positive about him.

    I am with you though.

Huge props mac! I agree with you 100%. I am very weary of Ming at this point, and all of the coments I hear about him come from this site. Every time I read a post about how Ming is goig to stop shaq I lose a little bit more respect for this site and the people who post on it. Either there are a lot of 12 year olds or a lot of chinese posters here. What takes the cake though is the steve bashing. You guys know who you are and that is totally unwarranted. These people call themselves fans and yet they sell out a guy who has sweat and played injured for this team for a guy we have never seen play against ANYBODY of quality. I gave up my Ming bashing the day we drafted him because I love this TEAM, apparently team loyalty is not just something of the past with players but with fans as well.

Are there any other neutral people out there on the Franics issue? It seems like many think Steve can do no wrong, and then there's the other half who exaggarate everything he says and want to get rid of him.

I'm definitely not a Steve-hater, but it does bother me that he seems to have somewhat changed his mind about signing an extension. When the season ended, he made it sound like it was going to be easy, but his latest comments suggest otherwise. Why the sudden change of heart? I just hope the extension gets signed very quickly and smoothly. As long as Steve doesn't give an ultimatum, I have no problem with his concerns about the Rockets future, eventhough I don't share those same concerns. But, the second he says something like meet my demands or I'm leaving, you can officially anoint me a "Steve-Hater." He hasn't yet earned the right to have a serious say in management decisions, and thankfully CD and Rudy agree on this. I'm sure if they listened to Steve we would have probably traded Yao Ming for Lamar Odom. So, let's just sign the extension and put an end to all this.

By the way, what the hell is going on with the Francis negotiations anyway? Is any progress being made? Did Jonathan Feigen die or something?

Neutral folks don't bother posting on the subject. When you have a phenomenon like the Francis bashing, it forces a polarization of camps. Even if you don't love what Francis says, there is a tendency to over-defend when you see he has been over-attacked. This of course is complemented by the other camp who see Francis lovers blowing sunshine and be overly critical as a result.

UT Baller:- No player will stop Shaq! So dont think of Yao Ming in that light. Yao is a new age Center a cross between a Center and a Small Forward, this is the way of the future. Shaq is the only traditional Center left in the NBA.

I am one of Steve's biggest critics, but that is only because I expect SOOOO much more from what I consider our franchise player.

Steve needs to lead this team, and needs to mature in a hurry, is it fair that he has no veteran leadership to show him how it is done? Probably not, but life is not fair.

I reserve the right to criticize anyone on MY team, but that does not stop me from cheering for them as loudly as I can.
