Oden may not yet be a total bust, but if he continues to have injury plagued seasons he will not last long in the NBA and may have a tragic career ending injury if he does not get in better shape
WTF 83 GAMES IN AN NBA SEASON. WE HAVE BEEN GETTING SCREWED RECENTLY. IT WASN'T TMACS FAULT. HAD WE PLAYED THE 83RD GAME WE WOULD OF MATCHED UP TO A DIFFERENT TEAM BESIDES THE JAZZ AND WON A RING OR MORE. omfg league hatez rocketz
I think he still could do something, but now he is starting to look like a bust, (with all his injuries and Durant playing amazing).
I'm not ready to call him a bust either but it's very clear to anyone that Durant is and will be the better player. I happen to think that Oden will be a very good player who ends up panning out very well for another team once his contract is up. I just can't see them justifying re-signing him and taking further risks beyond drafting him first overall ahead of Durant.
As a number 1 pick? Yes he is a bust. Especially considering the player picked right after him is the much better of the two, and will most likely have the far better career.
Its dumb to make this thread with him only being in the league for two years and still with much potential for a great career.
He's already been here 3 years, and I don't think he has much potential anymore because his body can't handle it. He's still in his early 20's, normally guys like that can play 40 mins a game without stopping. If he's already suffering injuries like that right now when he's young, what will his body be like when he's 28?
Even when he was playing, he couldn't last more than 2 quarters. He is.. half amazing half a season and half a game.
As a #1 overall pick you are compared to those who were drafted behind you. And so far he's been a bust compared to the later picks.
all of y'all are going hard at him, he had freaky injuries centers usually develop later in career, I'm sure he will and he's shown flashes of being a great 5
