The Rockets are not that far away from being an awesome team. Cosider these points:

1st- Croshere as a free agent or sign and trade. Thats all we need. I'll take him over Grant or Taylor. He's the big man that will fit.
2nd-If Miles is avaliable, get him.If not Miller.Miles and Francis will be a future that the NBA will have to deal with. He's ready to go to the NBA, I see Garnett all over again.

Now look at this team for the next couple of years:

    sf-Williams/Miles
    pf-Croshere/Thomas/Rodgers
    c-Olajuwon/Cato
    sg-Anderson/Mobley
    pg-Francis/Norris/draft or fa

This team will scare alot of teams, and when Hakeem is gone, Cato and Croshere can take over for another 5 years.
This team can work, and remember this, Cato will be a force. Not an Olajuwon but I see 15pts and 10reb with 3-4 blocks per.
I think this can be a beginning of a chamionship team.

It would be awesome if the Rockets get Croshere. He is the best powerforward still playing. He has everything, a quick first step, nice touch from the outside, good postup moves in the lane, decent ballhandling skills, and maybe most importantly, a good work ethic. He would immediately make a positive impact. In addition, after this year he will have playoff experience.

Then we come crashing down to reality.

Why would we need 3 PGs? In 2 years, Francis should be getting right around 40 MPG.

7 people in the NBA this past year averaged 10 rebounds a game. Cato is a poor rebounder for a center. Cato will not average 10 rebounds a game, first he has to get 7 rebounds per game.

pakirocket-I'd take Bender over Croshere in a heartbeat as the best PF still playing, but Bender's still developing.

If we want Miles, we'll have to move up. There's next to no hope of him falling to #9.

Even though Bender's supposedly "added 20 pounds", he still loooks like a stick. I like Croshere and all, but Bender does have MO potential.

Also, we prolly couldnt get Miles unless we move up.

And we'll also have to sign another center once Hakeem retires.

I think this Rocket team will be perfectly fine without Croshere. Sure it would be nice to get him, but it is not probable. I'm hoping Miller is selected but whoever they pick will be good. The only major signings are Cat and Moochie. Both look very signable and happy in Houston. This team has the potential to make the playoffs and do some damage. Here is my predicted roster. I also feel Pig should be brought back.

    pg-Stevie/Moochie
    sg-Shan/Cat
    sf-Walt/Miller/Bull
    pf-KT/Los/Mass
    c-Catomic/Dream/Pig
