If the Rockets would not have fallen out of the playoff spot i think DM would be a lock for gm and RA would be in the hunt for coy. We have to get back into the race for DM to have a chance at winning and RA to get any kind of mention.
From outsiders (national) perspective, had RA taken this years team to the playoffs, with $40 mil in payrole wasted, he would have gotten some votes.
I'd vote for Brooks, especially if the Thunder finish where they are now. No one really expected them to be 5th seed, hell not many people thought they'd be 8th seed.
It is hard to argue that they deserve an award unless they make the playoffs. There is no possibility RA will win COY. Maybe AB can win IF they make it to the 8th seed. Even so, it is unlikely.
If they start playing like they were in 09, possibly. I think they have fallen off the awards radar since 2010 began and they started playing terrible. IF Hill really turns it on and the team starts winning, I could see Morey getting EOTY for STEALING him from NY AND getting picks.
